Показать описание
Make a simple fabric bin, in ANY SIZE! I've made tiny bins for sewing supplies, and large bins for toys in our front room. You'll love this project! ! You can even include a handle or two. And a lid? YES! So let's sew...

Details/Dimensions for making this bin (mentioned in the video):
• Pattern template: 15"x17" rectangle with 4.5" squares removed from each corner
• Finished length of handle piece(s): 6.75"
• Use template to cut 3 layers: 1 interfaced exterior fabric, 1 interfaced lining fabric, 1 felt

I have literally learned everything I know from your videos. I have a very hard time learning new things. When I first got my sewing machine last year I knew absolutely nothing. I went through everyone's YouTube channel and yours was the easiest for me to understand. Thank you for your videos!

You are so adorable! I'm very new to sewing and your tutorials are fantastic! The pacing is perfect for me to follow along, and you don't drag along with needless chatter like other videos! You are definitely my favorite sewing teacher. Thank you for all you contribute to the crafting and sewing community! Because of you, my projects look neat, clean, and not handmade!

You make sewing so easy! Whenever I am trying something new I go straight to your channel to see if you've done a video on it.

Hi from Australia :)

Thanks for this! I'm an experience sewer and just needed a refresher, but WOW! A youtuber that is prepped and ready with steps already done ahead and not doing it all in real time?! A tutorial that was fast, concise, and to the point?! And informative for a beginner without being condescending or jargon-y... I'm in awe. I will definitely be checking out the rest of your channel and your store! (got to support those doing it right!)

I love that you explain what interfacing is for us newbs. Most people just take for granted that everyone knows the terms and lingo.

I 100% agree! Seeing that wall of interfacing (as a basic pattern and eas-project sewing kinda gal) is SUPER intimidating. I was looking at it for another pattern I was using, and seriously the people in the fabric store I go to are so lovely and patient with us non-sewing-knowing people! They helped me get on track and were super encouraging for my project!!! When in doubt, ask the people in the store they can have great input and maybe even make recommendations for future projects!

Just made mine... didn’t use felt though, used a wadding instead and my handles are made with the fabric as well. Also I made a decorative stitch on the top of the bin, it looks lovely... a pity we cannot post pictures in here... thank you...

Ive made a bin, and love it. But I was thinking that sometimes (depending on what you want to put into it), you want VERY stiff, upright sides. My idea: plastic canvas, cut to size, and put between outer and lining just after you nest the lining into the outer. Then sew around the edges. For the bottom you could cut plastic canvas to size, cover it in fabric, and lay it in the bottom of the bin. This alone might help the sides be more upright (or lay it in the bottom of the outer just before you put in the lining). I had a custom tote bag from eBay that had that. I’m going to try it. Gotta get plastic canvas first!

This is such a lovely sewing project. I've watched it a few times. Great to see you back online Dana. I'm looking forward to seeing some new videos from you. I'm based all the way over in Ireland. It's a long way from Texas but your videos are the best ones I have come across. You are a great teacher!

This is so cute! Going to have to make a few. When ever I’m ‘top stitching’ and there are two different color of fabrics, I always change my bobbin thread and/or needle thread to match my fabric. Believe it or not I’ve never been given a ticket by bobbin police! LOL! Those little added details really make a project look professional! Thanks for sharing yours,
