Welcome to 2014! We talk about 4K going mainstream but CNET is still uploading in 720p!

And when they hit bottom, I'm buying a gaming PC.

Idk what you mean about PC decline. I bought two this year, my friend bought one, one of my friends is looking to buy one, another friend built one. I've been seeing more ads on TV then any other year. From my p.o.v. it seems like the PC market is erupting,  not crashing.

I'm watching this on a traditional laptop. Not an ultrabook, not a convertible, and definitely not a toy!

Don't see the 4K until sometime mid-2015. Remember plasma didn't exactly take off either until prices dropped a couple of years later..

why 4k? sound good but...most TV stations transmit at 720p and some 1080i. boxes for streaming video are some that have 1080p and game consoles too, so why 4k. I love it anyway but why?

Sure...Seems legit to make products which go beyond the human capabilities... The human eye has hard time even distinguish 720p from 1080p and manufacturers are quadruple the resolution?

WHAT ARE THEY THINKING?

Damn Cnet you talk about 4k but you still uploads most of your videos like this one in 720p.

The PC market is not in decline, its more of a shift. I used to buy a new PC every year, but now I find myself buying 3 or 4 tablets a year instead.

I actually think PC will rise with the internet showing its love for steam sales(7.7 million users) and pure power of a gaming pc is way beyond any next gen console. I actually am starting the year off with building my gaming pc.

Happy New Cent! All the best in 2014, no doubt it should be even a better year for you.
Donald, I am one of the few who want 4K but in OLED for my desktop gaming PC! Here is hoping that Apple will make a larger iPhone...finally!
My CES wish is for more Cnet video content on more products! (some home theater maybe 4K projectors?)

I think it's too early for 4k to be mainstream. I'm expecting more VR headsets and 3D printers.

Nah, in my opinion, it will take a another 2-3 years for 4K to go mainstream to be honest :P

How is the PC market expected to decline more? I mean I realize people use tablets and smartphones for a lot more things these days but still for the powerhouse of getting things done, who would not have a normal computer of some sort anymore? And don't say Macs, they're still personal computers.

4k will go mainstream in 2015. It's to early yet prices are still twice as much as very good 1080p TVs.
