Adam later talks about how this was the closest he came to actually dying on the show.
He couldn't see anything, as because this was a smoker's car, the water turned very murky and burned his eyes.
When he took a breathe of the canned air, he put it in upside-down and got a breath full of water.

I read an article just now about five teens who apparently the driver lost control due to high rated of speed coming around a curb, it showed the aerial view of the wreck pathway that lead to a pond connected to a golf course but this was literally like fifty feet away from where they ran off the road... You would think that they would have had significant time to be able to do something?! But apparently when the car ran off the curb at that high Rate of speed hitting the brush ad beaches etc, it caused the airbags to deploy ( smaller newer model Kia sedan). Now take note there were five of them. If it were my guess they were probably all buckled in, and possibly were stuck wit seeatnelts unable to function. Windshield was majorly shattered on impact jnt the brush at that speed. Which most certainly meant Water entered the vehicle quickly . So keeping in mind, deployed airbags causing it to be so crowded combined with darkness, panic, and windows and seat belts probably failing to function they must have just been stuck there. There was no 911 call diispatched from either of the five teens. Wreck wasn't even known about until concerned parents started calling reporting their kids not returning home from work. Just imagine, I mean none of them even got the chance to call their parents as this was happening to thm...shows you how fast everything went down.

Dude the murkiness inside that car from all the cigarette buds is fucking disgusting. I can only imagine the smell coming from that car. There is literally a different color of water coming from the inside of the car 💀

They got it correct that most cars turn turtle when they sink. One thing not mentioned is that many river bottoms are muddy with the car sinking into the muck. I’ve seen a lot of sunken cars, and in most cases the doors are halfway into the mud.

Its a fact that a healthy living man can hold his breath for at least 2 minutes, even if he feels like hes drowning. Free Divers have learned how to handle this feel of drowning and some are up to hold their breath to 5 minutes and more

I can't swim. i couldn't open my eyes under water. If this happened to me, I would be dead.

If you had a quick second before you knew you were going to crash, would rolling down a window or opening the door mid crash probably help?

Newbie question. How come the doors and windows can't be opened? Is it the water pressure on the door making it difficult to open? Why can't the windows simply be wind down to escape? I could see many ppl making this mistake. . At first it doesn't seem that concerning then within a few seconds extremely serious and life threatening. So what's the advice? Open window quickly before the car is fully submerged?

Yea @plutus especially for anyone living and driving where roadways are close to bodies of water I mean I think it sounds practical enough

One way you can avoid all this: Roll the windows down
