How to Survive In a Sinking Car

To escape from a sinking car, you need to be sure you know what to do in advance. Extreme and life-threatening situations give us little or no time to think how to react. Only following certain secret tips will help you save your life and survive at this time. There are some very important steps to be taken in this unfortunate situation.
You have to remember every second counts as you’ll only have about a minute to do what you should before the car sinks completely underwater. Memorize the sequence: “unfasten the seat belt, lower the window, climb out of the car”. Once you’ve gotten your kids out, leave the car yourself.
If there’s no way to get out through the window, wait until the car fills completely with water, and then open the door. The rising air bubbles will lead you to the surface.

*Do not wait for the pressure to equalize!* When your car starts really sinking, the differential between the pressure outside the car and inside the car makes opening the door impossible. So people are commonly told to wait until the car fills completely with water in order for the pressure inside and outside of it to equalize, at which point you will supposedly be able to open the door. But two shows, Mythbusters and Top Gear have tested this theory and found it wanting. The inside/outside pressure will eventually equalize, but it won’t happen just as soon as the car fills up with water. It takes a bit longer, so long that you’ll likely drown before it happens. It is possible if you are patient, calm, and conserve your oxygen, but don’t count on it.

Just a Tip, if nobody has a tool to break your window. The head rest in the car if you can detach from the seat use the metal part of it to break your window. That detachable headrest was made for this certain situation.

*For those who don’t know how to swim:*

Take a deep breath, put your arms in 🙆‍♀️ position but more of a sturdy V rather than a U. Point your toes as if you are standing on your tippy-toes and continue to move your legs back and forth, try not to curve them too much, make very stiff movements. May I also say to point your head up to the surface rather than the ground. Hope this helps, I ain’t a professional, but I think this should be how to swim in a situation like this.

Excellent job. I would just add not to panic if the car submerges, as usually there is a sizeable air bubble trapped at the roof of the car that will allow you to get a few breaths until the door is ready to open.
