Same age as Dave and also lifelong MA resident, there wasn’t one person in our age group who didn’t know who Doug was back then. Every recess football game and after school pick up football game recreated the Hail Mary for years. Why there isn’t a statue of Doug around here is mind boggling he’s a local hero/legend for all time. And he’s a hell of a drummer to boot!

I work with a guy that played baseball and football at Natick HS with Doug. He said he saw Doug throw 50 yard frozen ropes and figured his chances of being QB were gone. He was right. Also said Doug was a better basketball player than football. Even brought in his Little League team photo with him and Doug in it. Kinda cool stuff. I saw the Hail Mary at The Bow & Arrow Pub in Harvard Square. Kinda like everybody remembers where they were when JFK was shot. Love these reviews!
