I wasn't even on this mission I found the house and couldn't pick up the ladder maybe further in the story I will be able to pick up that ladder lol

Don’t bother trying to pick up the ladder if the mission os not active yet. Those items are baiting you in there and you can’t even fet the ladder until later on in the story line
