😢 Chimney Rock, Asheville, Pigeon Forge, parts of NC and TN were all the places I used to go with my mom when I was a kid. We are from PA and would go there for vacations all the time and then I have taken my children there too, last time staying in Boone. One of my favorite areas of the country because of the mountains and the people. We loved it there because of how wonderful and kind the people are. To know they're all gone is soul crushing. 💔

This is what our entire area looks like now... everyone that lives here has always said "we don't get hurricanes; our mountains protect us".. and they always have so we were very ill prepared, our structures are gone and this is being extensively underreproted.. Thanks to all who have sent prayers and supplies 🙏 We are very blessed that others are showing so much support, if you can help, please do! Those "big" organizations aren't helping much, the government is staying closed and refusing to help.. it's all the little people and the comradery that's so special! So sad! Lifelong Eastern NC boy here and married to a WNC girl, thankfully her family is all safe! Little known fact, Asheville was obliterated by a hurricane in 1919 and it took a while to rebuild but they did. These days too shall pass. Thanks for sharing!

This makes me think of a 1, 000 year flood. We live in Mississippi and we are praying for all of our brothers and sisters (and animals, too) in the places devastated by Helene. Hurricanes Katrina and Ivan, as well as an EF-3 tornado that hit us, and many floods - but NOTHING like this. I cannot imagine. 😢💔🙏🏻

I have friends that have been making supply runs to certain areas, smaller towns in broad river smells like bodies. It's really lot of people and children still missing. Please keep doing coverage on this, as this region needs so much
