I had extremely good gut health when I got bitten by a tick while camping and got Lyme disease. Even then I felt fine. But the antibiotics 500 mg of doxycycline and 500 mg of amoxicillin everyday for six months got rid of my entire biome. No body odors even when it gave me diarrhea. Had to have yogurt constantly to stay out of the bathroom. I've eaten 10 or more servings of vegetables everyday my whole life. I was as physically fit as Jackie Chan and taught Kung Fu. After the antibiotics I was depressed, started getting weaker, lost my stamina, had trouble digesting anything And I've had constant digestive infections. No doctor I've had since has done anything or cared. I have tried to get doctors to prescribe a fecal transplant. A large number of the conditions you listed that apply to men I have gotten as a result of that and other medications I was given. After more than 20 years of no sugar and no red meat since 1980 all I ever hear from doctors is cut down on sugar and eat less red meat. All meals in an 8 hour window by the way. I've done everything you say since before you were saying it and it's not enough.

Thanks Dr. B. for convincing this nearly 60 year old to have his 1st colonoscopy. I had multiple polyps removed - a few were pretty advanced. No cancer. Despite my stuborn procrastination, you may have helped me avoid cancer, and I'm grateful.

I had some antibiotics after dental work. Omg my cycling performance has fallen off a cliff, I had no idea my gut bacteria had such an impact on my athletic performance

Last time I had to take antibiotics I made sure I ate a variety of dark leafy greens (prebiotics) and raw sauerkraut and kombucha plus veggies in variety.

Perfect timing! I’m just coming off of taking antibiotics for the first time in like 20 years. I knew I had to rebuild my gut flora but wasn’t exactly sure how to do it. Thx! ✌️🌿

How do I heal my gut if I can't eat fermented food due to histamine intolerance? I am taking probiotics, but feel like I am missing out on advance steps in healing my gut because i can't eat probiotic foods. Please advise. Thank you

I'd like to hear Dr. Will Bulsiewicz's stand on helicobacter pylori.
Would he rely on diet alone to get rid of it?

To Dr B: Why not offer a stool test before a colonoscopy? This can show true dysbiosis, malnutrition, parasites, bacterial infections etc. isn’t this a better alternative medical approach before doing a colonoscopy?

I am On a high fiber diet all the time. I had to get some dental work done, and they gave me antibiotics. Before it used to mess with my stool and it was not a normal 3-4 on the Bristol scale. I upped my fiber and resistant starch, and now I don’t have the issue even with the antibiotics. I still have to take them for another week. So they’re correct, if you work on getting yourself prepared and maintaining a high fiber during that course, you won’t have an issue or at least as much.💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

A fecal transplant today is a much more esthetically pleasing idea than the ancient Chinese method. Be happy we have learned of the procedure and its benefits. Thank you Science.

I had appendicitis in 2020 and insisted on antibiotics instead of an appendectomy. The antibiotics worked great but my doctor told me to eat yogurt and pickles to reintroduce good bugs. I laughed at her and asked if she could recommend nondairy or low sodium options. She couldn’t and was curious about why I might want avoid dairy and salt. I told her to check out Dr Greger’s research and to try natto (preferably the NYrture brand) over BROL (barely, rye, oats, and lentils) with ground black seed (nigella sativa). Hopefully she learns before recommending terrible food again…

I was put on antibiotics after having a baby. They didn't really explain why, and gave me the prescription on the way out the door. I was hesitant to take it. I was eating the healthiest I have ever ate during the pregnancy and continued after the baby was born so I guess I should be glad I did that. I didn't notice any side effects. I do wish that I could have asked a doctor if I actually needed it though. I would have preferred to just eat super clean instead of taking them.

Always a great channel. Love both these guys. I was pretty healthy, competitive tennis player pre-covid, than got covid bad, and since trying to recover gut health. Doc gave me antibiotics for what thought was viral infection, and I stupidly took it. Ended up getting Cdiff. Went to gastro, etc. and they are not too much into functional medicine on restoring the gut, so that is why videos like this are helpful. Not sure how one goes about getting fecal transplants, etc. from what they talk about in the video. If anyone knows how that works, as I am in Arizona and would love to meet with a good doc, or just find out more information. Hope everyone keeps themselves healthy, and keeps just educating yourself on your health, and listening to the great Dr. Bulsiewicz. He needs to open a clinic here in Arizona :) We will welcome him :)

If we cannot eat enough fermented foods due to food intolerance issues, such as histamine, do you recommend an oral prebiotic then?
