Ken, this is the first piece where I sense that you have no idea what you are talking about. As someone with 1.5 decades of IT experience for FAANG, please, understand, IT is not for everyone. No, you cannot convert at 40-50 and have a great career, much less via a bootcamp program, L, M, F, A, O. More like, you can convert, be diligent in your job search, then be dead-weight on the project, where you come to realize, the learning curve is so steep, you need 5-10y just to get the feeling of how the industry works & operates.

Japanese companies have the same salary setup. The Engineers may get paid more then their managers, but they are still the managers.
