I have been off my thyroid med, (doctor took me off one, and I ended up taking myself off the other). I started to feel a whole lot better. I had started getting up earlier and still going to bed around midnight. I haven't been on these meds for approximately a year. I started developing, what I thought was merely carpal tunnel syndrome. I started going to a therapist, which helped a little in the beginning. The pain, stiffness, numbness started to spread up in to my arm and shoulder on my left side. I the past few weeks, it started happening to my right side, which I had no previous issues with. I went to a local prominent hand surgeon, who after her diagnosis and xrays, decided that it is rheumatory arthritis. Prescribed prednisone and an antibiotic. I will not take the antibiotic due severe side effects that can be far worse than benefit it could have. I wonder, if because I stopped taking my thyroid meds, is contributing to all of this, which I had no real issue with before. i had already been taking the meds for approximately 16 years. Any thoughts?
