I was seventeen when I met the man who would become my first husband. I came from a broken family. My earthly father was abusive, my mother was very sick and suffered for years then died at forty seven. I was fifteen. I was very naive. I ran away with the first man who showed interest in me. Not even thinking about his beliefs or goals. I believed Jesus was real, because my mother told me before she passed that she walked with Him in heaven. But I didn’t know Him. My first husband claimed to be an atheist and liked it that way. I became a born again and water baptized believer in my mid twenties. I prayed that my husband would also find Jesus. That he would become a Godly man. I was a good wife, loved by his whole family, I tried to win him to Christ, but he wouldn’t budge. Our two small children and I were going to Church, bible studies studies and we were doing what my Savior asked of me. My husband would make it difficult for us to get to church and to help others in need within the Church. My husband was verbally abusing me daily, then it got physical. One night I couldn’t sleep, I became paralyzed with fear when I saw red eyes staring at me in the dark corners of my room. I closed my eyes and asked Jesus to help me. I felt a warm gentle breeze over my forehead an fell asleep. I dreamt that my husband was screaming and kicking me, cursing at me and calling me horrible names. Then I heard a voice, a very powerful voice, I believe to be my Heavenly Father tell me to leave, take your children and leave. I left my husband the next day. We went to counseling of his choice. The councilor after two sessions told us we were incompatible and from what he had already heard he felt it wasn’t safe for me to remain with him. That was twenty five years ago.My ex husband is still an unbeliever. I’ve prayed and will continue praying for him. I remarried five years later to a wonderful man, not perfect, but I believe heaven sent. He loves our Lord, all our children and me. We are what you speak of in this video. Equally yoked. In love with our Lord and subject to Him and each other. Amen

The bible have spoken long before now, and no man can change its everlasting truth. Women who love God know the truth and they will submit to husband

I enjoy this channel but just a thought on Galatians 3:28... This is written in the context of salvation nothing to do with submission or authority.

Still open for correction 😂

At the beginning the answer was given as a clear "No" and that women should submit to the Lord. Then it goes on later to mention, what I recognize as a cult word 'headship'. That is not a biblical term, yet it is used a lot in cults. Lord Jesus washed the feet of his disciples and called himself their servant even. I agree with a lot of what is being said, but I do think that there are terms that slip into our vocabulary that have come from our past religious experiences perhaps, that can actually not be quite right.

Ephesians 5 and 6 really need to be taken in context. It also says that slaves should obey their masters. That could sound terrifying if you're in modern day slavery as we do have going on. Say your master has you in people trafficking and you have to perform some immoral task or get beaten or killed? Is God saying not to try and escape if you get a chance? You don't always submit of course.

I like Todd and I've agreed with 80% of these videos so far I've been binging on haha. But i don't fully agree with him here, his explanation makes sense but women are called many times to submit to their Godly husbands since he is the leader of the family. The phrase "there can't be 2 chef's in the kitchen" comes to mind. Both sexes are equal in value as souls in God's in eye's, but there is only 1 quarterback on the field at once, if you have multiple guys calling plays the message wont be clear which is why God is a God of order.. there's a plethera of scripture on this topic but try ephesians 5:20-33 for starters. God bless 💙💜💚💛❤

Thanks for this video. I don't see the show notes mentioned in the video around 1.58-2.02 - attributes of a godly man and woman. Hope it can be added to the notes, thank you!

Surprised that the pastor didn't talk about why the question is usually asked: I Tim 2:9-15 role of women in the church. Did he dodge it?

Women should not submit to their husbands. Their husbands do not own them.

What about 1 Timothy 2:9-15? I do agree woman should be valued and respected. But she should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or assume authority over a man. For Adam was formed first then Eve. And Adam was not the one deceived it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.

More Half-truths watering down the Word of God. 1 Peter 3 makes is clear that wives are to submit to their (lost or ungodly) husbands so that "without a word" they may be won over by observing their chaste and reverent behaviour.

Amen for this message; I have no problem being subject to my future husband and being a help mate, but you are so right it’s Jesus first and foremost then the future hubby! Don’t give up the goodies lady, your worth more then a cheap anything, he should want to court me and get to know me before laying with you.

What does it mean in Genesis when it says after the fall of Man that woman your desires will be for your husbands and he will rule over you

God made man according to His own image and likeness. Man AND woman He made them. Same fullness.

In Christ differences in man-woman cease to exist.

We ALL with unveiled faces reflect His glory and are being changed into His Image from glory to glory by the Spirit who is the Lord. Same fullness.

It is common knowledge that the early churchfathers added, manipulated the word of God. So just saying: it is written, without Spirit revelation by Holy Spirit can do a lot of harm.

I know woman that preach that are in error, i know man that preach and are a horrible representation of how Christ intented life to be.

Truth doesn't change. We are all complete in Christ. Man and woman alike. And grow in to Him in all things.

Col 2:9-10. The fullness of deity dwells in Jesus bodily and YOU HAVE BEEN MADE COMPLETE IN HIM (the last Adam!) who is the head of all principality and power.

Because of what God did in Christ you automatically became what you are already. A new creation in Christ.

A partaker of the divine nature for free. 2 Pet 1:3-4.

We awake by the Spirit to that fact and grow in to Him, the normal divine nature, for free. Because of His great love for us, His creation. 2 Cor 3:18.

Out of His fullness we have received.

Good news, joy unspeakable. God came, took us in and restored us back to original created value to walk as Jesus.

As He is.... so are we. All that is His is ours. The Father in Christ and Christ in us. Seamless oneness. For free. Yay!

Thank you Jesus for opening our eyes to the inexpressible riches, the normal divine nature, we have received in You.

Women. Preach it, teach it, live it! You are so equally in!!!

Let's share the good news.
