Charlie absolutely nails the point. Yes, women should submit to their husbands (which does necessarily mean men are better or above her but rather in a leading role), and the husband should submit to Christ. I’ve been married to my girl for over 17 years, and the reason for the success in my marriage is because of Jesus. God is good! And worthy of all praise!

No one should submit to anyone. Marriage is a collaboration between a man and a woman who complement each other, each through their uniqueness. There is no one above the other.

In Western Europe the emphasis of Christianity is more on being equal. We are not taught in schools or church that women must obey men. It is not included in our wedding vows either.

While dating, not exactly, because boyfriends do not have authority over their girlfriends the girl's father actually has authority over her (even if she does not live under his roof, the father is still responsible for her safety). But women still need to discern if they can be submissive to the man they are dating and frequently the best way to figure that out is to pray with him and go to church with him. If he refuses or shirks that duty then it might be a sign he will not be a good fit as a husband.

Women should submit to their husband's and to authority but not to all men. Just the ones God has placed over them.
It's not a "slave" situation the world would have you to believe. It's the fact that someone has to lead and God chose husband's.
