Looks like a great product Neil. Looks like its going to solve a lot of problems for people. Afterall, preventing blotch is the easy part. Getting the color you want after the fact is the real challenge. Nicely done my friend!

My fathers been working on cars about as long as you've been working with wood. Cept he started at 17 not 13....lol.

I like your videos and I like you. Jesus was a fisherman and a woodworker as you probably know.
Bless ya man.

the video was just posted, it often takes at least 24 hours for the sound and video quality to be 100%, especially on a video of this duration.. cant say why, but it just seems to work that way

I'm not really into wood working or what have you. But I would like to build some simple furniture for myself, which would definitely need stained. I liked what I saw, and will definitely be buying your blotch control compound.

I thought it was pretty cool, how it did on the exterior grade plywood, that stuff made a HUGE difference.

they work ok, but I much prefer the stain pads, especially with a dye, which dries fast, and you want to be able to cover an area as quickly as possibe, they hold much more fluid, there is a video out her called "more about pine and the Blotch control it may help

thanks for a very informative video.  Was getting tired of finding websites selling pre finish products and all I had was their word that it worked.  You actually proved yours works showing all scenarios on many different woods.  I am about to stain 7 unfinished Cherry kitchen cabinets I put together from Conestoga Woods. Did not want the stain process to ruin my efforts. Been staining for 35 years on small projects but 1st time with Cherry wood.  Will be purchasing in the next few weeks. Wondering if I should get 1 Qt or 2?

Hi Charles....going to give this a try this weekend.  I am curious what color dye stain you are using in this video?  I am also wondering what type of finish you would suggest for a final finish.  I am a newbie to this all but have done a ton of online research and your product does seem like a miracle.  I have ruined several pieces of wood due to blotching and looking forward to this next try.

Wow, I am seriously considering resanding my piece, for the third time, and using this. My only concern is this, when you use this conditioner it basically takes away the stain penetration into the wood and it would act more like a gel stain where the pigments get caught in the recesses, right? What I understand is that gel stains are not buildable, so you cannot get the color darker. So I guess that is the second question. So lastly, to build color could you use another coat of conditioner and the another coat of stain?

Ok -- I'm back -- the sound was OK to me -- since you moved the mic its much better, in fact I thought you were gonna stain IT too -- wait till your wife sees your shirt -- ha -- anyway the info came across and that was more important. Good stuff I've used the sanding sealer and YES still had the bloch not as bad but still there. Your product sounds really good. Gonna give it a try -- wish you best of luck marketing it --

I'm clear coating some cherry with shellac and it has some sapwood in it. Does this stuff make sapwood "disappear" or blend in better under any finish (clear coat in this case) or is a stain needed to make it blend in?

we prefer a water base stain or dye, oils work over it as well,

lacquer and acetone stains dissolve it too fast and can only be sprayed, not wiped,

often on oil base stains one coat is sufficent, instead of 2, but you have to test to be sure, .

I just had a custom gun stock made out of maple and I want to finish it using the aquafortis method. Do I need to use the blotch control when using the aquafortis, and also what type of final top coat finish should I use? Thanks for any help you can give.

sounds like very good stuff .... How does it perform on "Baltic Ply"?.

Charlie I just ruined a piece I spent 20 hours on using that exact same stain you're using along with the recommended sanding sealer.
I contacted my supplier and they say I did it all wrong.
After seeing your video I'm absolutely certain I did it all wrong. I'll be ordering your blotch control today.

@cmaines

It might just be your speakers or headphones.
This particular video sounded just fine for myself. And I am on my laptop.... which usually produces crappy quality even before the video content is watched. Built in speakers are very small I assume on my laptop.
