I got my strawberries from Bonnie Plants, but you can also get from Stark Bros, Nourse Farms, or your local nursery :)

(From another 10b area) My strawberries were never really growing all that well, so I've been experimenting with companion plants, and I found a companion that helped my berries thrive: Carrots. I just mixed them in all over the place. The other planters I have with other experimental mixes still have the same underperforming plants, so there's something about the carrots that the strawberries like.

Wasn't really something I expected, but, hopefully somebody else finds this comment useful.

My mom planted strawberries two years ago and one pot she used still produces them. Every year we forget they are there until we have a ton of strawberries all over the ground.

Dude. I literally just started soaking the bare root strawberries that I got in the mail today. I'm planting them in like 30 minutes. Perfect timing!

I don't know why I always watch these videos AFTER I do the planting.. but I'm grateful I did because I had planted them too deep. I pulled em up a bit and I'm excited to have some delicious strawberries!

Mulch is also important to keep dirt off the strawberries and keeping them from going moldy. Straw is a good choice (thus STRAWberries) but wood chips are decent too. Strawberries make a nice ground cover in a food forest or orchard. You might think about rooting the runners that will come from those strawberries into solo cups and soil, and transplanting those runners around your fruit trees when you put them in. They can do alright with partial sun, but if you are concerned you can plant them to the south side of the trees to maximize light. If you let them set runners, the number of plants will easily triple by the following year. That'll triple your fruit production. You might harvest 8 oz a week this year, and then 24 oz a week next year. That'll be enough to start making strawberry jam. :D

You are the first person I've heard say strawberries are easy to grow.

I planted bare rooted everbearing strawberries last year. All of them produced well. With the daughters (the runners), I now have nearly 100 plants in my raised beds. Although I mulched them, I added a layer of pine straw once winter temperatures dropped well below freezing. Just checked them, and they're all happy 😊 Loved the video!!!❤

I started mine from seed and I can assure you it takes time and work: anxiety when nothing is germinating, punny small seedlings and roots, regulating the soil and making sure it doesn't die from disease but they are giving fruits now!

"Loves 8+ hours of sun."
I keep hearing that, but they never mean Australian sun 🤣

Strawberriws are my fave to grow. I started with 6 plants and once it got to producing, we were getting about a pint a week.

Just planted a batch of bare root strawberries myself a few weeks back, they’re doing great and already flowering. Gotta love that Florida’s weather is perfect for year round gardening.

I’m going to try and grow strawberries for the first time this year. It’s also my first year gardening so may be a bit ambitious!

I started growing strawberries in containers last year. Best tasting strawberries I've had. 🍓

Bare roots for the win once again. My strawberries and eggs helped me save my home during a work change. We have a 3rd acre dedicated only to berries. We plant our blue straw red blackberries together in rows with bush beans almost hugging the runners mid summer. Someone brought up carrots I would think that would b stellar as well mixed in ill try it

I'm growing strawberries from seed again this year. I failed completely last year but I'm stubborn. So far I'm having a lot more success this year hopefully it continues. Great video I really like your videos thanks

Yet again, you gave so much more useful information and not just the physical planting part like other videographers do. Thank you!
