The John Milton character is meant to be a villian in "Scream 3", so while it is creepy what he said, he is playing a creep.

This list is loaded with flaws in logic. Milton and Stifler are supposed to be dirt bags -- that's the point. Ms Mojo doesn't get it.

Lance Henriksen's character was portrayed as a villain though. They weren't condoning him. And Stifler was meant to be a douche and unlikeable

Scream 3 character should exist today because there are people like that

As an Asian Australian I felt this way about Emma Stone’s Aloha until I gave birth to my red haired blue eyed ethnically 1/4 Chinese son. Rare but not impossible.

When it comes to Hattie McDaniel as Mammy, I agree with the role never working today in our PC world. According to Wikipedia, she had this to say when it came to people criticizing her choices for roles in other movies like Disney's "Song of the South":

"Why should I complain about making $700 a week playing a maid? If I didn't, I'd be making $7 a week being one."

Gotta respect that woman.

I'm a bit forgiving when comes to Mammy. Honestly, speaking as Black Caribbean man, a lot of our grandmothers, great-aunts and so on were in that role of working for others and doing what they can to survive. Mammy had to put on a smile because she's smart enough to know that in that time, an unhappy maid is an ex-maid. The smile hid all the pain and suffering but also showed the strength and wisdom she accumulated over the years. Yes, we have evolved past that time. However, to deny it is to deny what has made us stronger and brought us to where we are. You can complain about the past or learn from it. I choose to learn from it.

The fact that The Last Airbender is on the list implies that the characters worked in the first place. Do not get an Avatar fan started. Just, don't.

All this talk of changing the movies, books, and other items of the past needs to stop because, if we can't remember where we've been how do we know where we're going. And also " Those that cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it" - Santayana

I believe the producer character in scream 3 would still work today but the writers would add more depth and commentary on rape culture that has been ingrained within the Hollywood culture.

While most of John Hughes' movies still hold up extraordinarily well, a lot of things have NOT aged well. Namely, the casual sexism, racist and homophobia has NOT held up, and the only minority character in "Sixteen Candles" is used as the butt of the joke.

Clearly the narrator has never scen Chasing Amy because Alyssa explains that she is actually bisexual and only identified as a lesbian because of not wanting to conform. Jesus

Stifler isn't depicted as a hero or role model. What type of character should have been in his place?

I still think there was some badassery that leaked through in Patty McDaniel's role in Gone With the Wind. That movie is a product of its times and has all the terrible problems that you would expect, but McDaniel imbued her character with shrewed intelligence and grit in spite of all the racism.

I wouldn't call fake virtuesignalling, heavy censorship, forced diversity, toxic inclusion, straight white man BAD, and actors/actresses to "STAY IN YOUR LANE" getting better.

Thank you for NOT including Robert Downey, Jr's role as Sgt. Lincoln Osiris in Tropic Thunder. I hate when that one is included in lists like this because it was done beautifully, respectfully and with dead-on accuracy while remaining satire.

"Times are changing for the better?" Are they serious?? You mean how people are getting so easily offended by everything to the point where others are afraid to even speak, because they're afraid of being called a racist, or a bigot? Or even getting trashed online or sued? Yeah.... sounds better.

"She was based on a real person who looked nothing like her ancestry, but ignorant people don't want to acknowledge that's a thing so they decided to be offended for shits and giggles."
