“You’re never starting over. You’re starting from experience!” Now that’s a priceless epiphany!

When I was 25 I had everything i wanted then I made a lot of mistakes and bad decisions so when I was 32 I lost everything I've worked so hard for. I got very depressed lost my house, cars, motorcycle, wife the only thing I had left was my cell phone and it was getting hard to pay for it but I was using it to survive selling little things I had like tools and stuff but then I found Les Brown and Mel Robbins on YouTube and I learned that I can change my life so I started to work harder on everything so I thank God for everything I when thru. Now I'm 42 and just 2 years ago everything started to get easier everything is different and I am different. Thank you Mel

I've been trying to make a better life for myself since I was 12 years old. NOBODY was talking like this 50 years ago. I just had my 65th birthday and I'm so excited about the road ahead. I've given myself permission to want everything I want and can't wait to see what is still possible.

How appropriate I just ran across this quote by C.S. Lewis: "There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind."

Mel, I'm 53 and have been working in retail hell for most of my adult life barely making minimum wage for 30 years and I finally got my dream job!
I have applied at my local library for 10 years, volunteered, and inquired here and there and just never heard anything.
I kept cashiering at soul sucking dollar store jobs and one day I stopped in to make a resume to quit my shitty dollar store job for a hopefully less shitty dollar store when the library lady said, "Oh Jen, please apply here, you would be perfect and we need someone with an open schedule."
Now with my kids grown I have an open schedule, life experience and a grateful heart. Sometimes things are unfolding and you have to have faith and patience.
I get to share your books with patrons too!

You nailed it for me. I'll be 60 in two months, on disability, widowed for 16 years. But!!!! I found a job! I'm just praying that I will physically be able to do the job, and the rest will fall in place.
I've pretty much been self isolating at home, and thinking the same old 💭💬💭 thoughts every day, all day. It's time for change!

Love your show. Mel I am 67 years old and starting over. I am NOT afraid of it, just kind of stuck. Just wondered if any of your listeners are starting over in their 60's. Most of us have serious limitations at our age and older so that makes it a little tougher. I have gone back to work, I am a caregiver and some of my clients are right around my age, so yes I am very blessed to be able to do this. Let me tell ya though, after just a 5 or 6 hour day I am plum tuckered. lol. Yes, at 67 I do have a fire inside of me wanting to explode with creativity and caring. I better stop here because I could go on and on. Thank you Mel. God bless you.

I found you at the most important time of change in my life. I am 76 and seperated from my husband of 55 yrs. I have been on my own for 4 yrs. At first I cried so much but my husband is a serious alcoholic.i have a brilliant team that are there for those with mental health issues. Every day some positives do come my way. I live in what some would call a dodgy area. Well 98 per cent of the residents are angels. So kind and invite me to hubs etc. Today was such a simple day but the group who were giving time to us were so kind. My faith is growing because of these careing souls. I have accepted that my marriage is over although we will not divorce. Slowly I am gaining assurance that I will manage. Thankyou for your positive advice.

My hubby is closing his State Farm office due to his mental breakdown and I’m excited for our next chapter! I work for him so we are both walking away! People think we are nuts because of the money we are giving up but Money is nothing without your health!!! I know this happened for a reason!!!!❤ I want to focus on my podcast and see what happens next!❤

Mile marker 60! I’ve been a wife and mom for over 40 years. I now have been called nana for over 14. I find myself recently divorced from a toxic relationship. No 9-5. I am on a detour that I didn’t expect. But… I’m a good driver. Sometimes a little heavy on the pedal, music might be a little loud, but I’m looking for the signs. I’m grabbing opportunities as they present themselves and I’m often scared shi**less.
Thanks to Mel I’ve been encouraged to get in the car and off my a**. It’s not easy taking a new road but I’m going to enjoy the ride ❤

40 with a fresh start. Lost everything my business, my health, all my close relationships except 1! Never been married, no children. Just me and finally free to have the dream life! I used to cry and now I’m grateful that all those harmful things were taken from me!!

I am 44 single woman mother of 3 and I am going thru a phase of my life that I have learned to turn off the voices of people that would not add to my life and that included family members and friends that would only look for me when they needed me but never there for me when I needed them. And guess what..?? It feels great, it feels like I lost 100 lbs off of my body lol... And all this happened because I pulled over and decided to go my own way to my happiness. Thank you Mel ❤

I definitely need to reinvent my life.
I am 60 years old, single, have four serious chronic illnesses, on disability in Tucson, Arizona where crime is off the charts, have no family left and have very little money due to not being able to earn a living. I don't even own a car anymore. Kind of stuck in trauma due to many things along with the loss of so many family members and friends.
I am very grateful for what I do have but would like to and need to reinvent my life.
I am going to listen to this podcast now and take all the advice I can get from our wonderful friend Mel💞
