Magnitude 5.2 earthquake strikes near Bakersfield

A preliminary 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck near Bakersfield Tuesday evening sending out shockwaves felt across Southern California. This report aired on Aug. 6, 2024.

Felt several shakes in Porterville which is about 50 miles north of Bakersfield. Living in a manufactured home you feel the shaking. During the 2019 Ridge earthquake I was outside and saw the ground roll.
