Magnitude 7.0 earthquake hits Northern California

A spate of strong earthquakes struck near the Bay Area on Dec. 5, 2024.

If you didn’t feel anything that’s a good thing… I’ve had experience with 8.0 on 8/8/1993 rocked for a minute and is scary as hell when I was 12yrs old. Not to mention the countless aftershocks that came days after…

I was standing in the kitchen two days ago, and I said to my husband and son, California is going to be hit with a huge 7+ EQ. I could feel it coming.

The 1994 huge quake was only five miles from our house.

I love in Eureka, the news made it bigger than it was. Honestly we had an earthquake in 2022 in the middle of the night that caused more damage and was scarier to experience. That was a 5 something. The scariest part about the 7.0 was the tsunami warning and everyone panicking trying to leave town (btw, if you head north or south you are straight in the Tsunami zone, , it’s best to stay off highway 101 and head toward the inner part of town).
