7.6 magnitude earthquake strikes near the southern Philippines; tsunami warning issued

A powerful earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.6 struck Saturday off the cost of the southern Philippines island of Mindanao and Philippine authorities issued a tsunami warning.

Quite impressive way the Philippines takes on strong earthquakes and nothing seems to happen, The response is always very accurate and the buildings move but hardly ever fall . Other developing countries should take their example to prevent grave tragedies like in Turkey, Syria, Morroco and Afghanistan, all ravaged by weaker earthquakes this year that left millions affected.

Yes as a person who live in the philippines and from cagayan de oro which is in the philippines it was very strong and my family and i struggled because we live in a condo at the 6th floor personally i feel bad for the people that stay on the 16th floor because we had to use the stairs. God please help us, amen! And we are not ready for the tsunami. Thank you!

With that big of an earthquake, it is surprising to know that only minimal damage was done by this earthquake. In a lot of places around the world, a 6.0 magnitude earthquake can already flatten buildings. This one is 7.6!

Update: as of 12:40am siargao is experiencing “ocean disappear”

Update: sorry for not updating but the ocean returned around 2:10 am with only little waves seen crashing from the distance. But several cities suffered damage from the tsunami but we only suffered minor damage on some buildings (earthquake)
