Being a medical student and having recently learnt about Sigmund Freud, this video was a gold mine. Thank you, what a wonderful discussion!

Narcissists lack the inner thermostat of self love. They try to validate themselves by creating any type of drama because the attention gets drawn to them, they view attention as validation

Great stream. Questioned my whole childhood but learned a lot! Now I am feeling more comfortable thinking about this complex because before I would just discard it, I didn't want to even think about it. And feeling really grateful after knowing all these amazing things ❤️❤️❤️

I really see this series being a possible podcast. I too find myself keeping the phone down to listen in parts. As long as there are no brain diagrams needed 😛, I would be happy with an audio version too.

This is so interesting to hear because when I was quite young (around 6-7 yrs old), I made a list of objects in my house, and I had included my family members in it as objects. Back then everybody made a joke of it, and we still laugh on that part. But hearing from a psychiatrist that Freud also identified people as objects is kinda interesting. Does that mean while learning about an outside world, our brain identifies personalities/characters as objects?

I absolutely loved it

I had a question....assuming that Freud was right about the Oedipus complex, will a homosexual boy see his mother as a sexual rival instead of his father?

Also, assuming that too rigid potty training leads to finicky behaviour in adults, is it possible that disorders like OCD are potty training gone wrong?
