Contradictions in Genesis?

Agreed! Many of the claims have been refuted scores of times. Yet, people who appear to have actually spent some time with the Bible, bring the same ones up, over and over again.

Its so interesting to think that people discount the Bible as Historical text because it contains things that they don't believe, but then these same people turn around and accept Egyptian, Mesopotamium, Greek, Roman, even the Quran to point to established historical markers . It really boils down to, that we fight against the powers and principalities of this world, and obscurring the One True Word of God, (the Bible, old testament and New testament). I mean, they sit there and base their hypothetical origins of the universe on a man's work from the 1850's that basically said that the fossil record would bear out evolution, and if no fossil account with cross species mutation or interspecies evolution produced itself, the only option woukd be to discard the theory as false. Evolution is comforting to many because they take it to mean that they are God, and they dont answer to anyone.

The items in Gen 2 are details of what is in Gen 1. They dont necessarily represent a sequence but each item is an item of a list. Just like computer subroutines that are not executed in succession but are called by the main program. In this case Gen 1 is analogous to the main program.

I think that we're missing the point when most people talk about biblical contradictions. They're not saying that the person who originally put the written words down were making mistakes, they are saying that there are modern misunderstandings in culture and intent that we wont understand about the ancient writers, along with several millennias worth of small mistranslations that screwer our modern understanding of the word. As christians, we need to recognize this in order to get the full word of God as he intended us to receive it.

Its very frustrating to hear to this day so much nonsense and purposely exnacted ignorance. If they all just read the Bible which is the #1 best seller we wouldnt be in this situation

Actually, strictly speaking, it isn't a contradiction. What is the question is why does AiG take the creation description from Chapter 1, but the making of Adam and Eve from Chapter 2. Wouldn't it make better sense to use both from the same Chapter.

This is so interesting. I have known the Lord since a was a child and I never thought anything other than God created animals THEN ppl. I never knew about a supposed contradiction until I was an adult. Jesus was on to something when He told ppl they needed to come to Him “as” a child [would]. We make things too complicated.

There are many contradictions in the bible. Was Jesus crucified the day after the passover meal as the synoptic gospels claim, or on the day of preparation for passover as John claims?

We have always heard by society that the Ark was filled in pairs of each male/female, animals, In the Bible it stated the Clean animals was filled by sevens, and the unclean by pairs.

One creation account is in the beginning
But THEN God places Adam is the garden of Eden then we see another creation account that Adam SEEN but Eve did not
She was the last to be created, hence why the devil went to deceive her first
She had not seen creation unlike Adam who witnessed Gods work

And yet as a Christian I used to be, I seen the contradictions and avoided them and made excuses but I couldn't anymore. The order of creation written in Genesis is incorrect

God created the trees, plants first, and then created the sun and the moon. This is a contradictions to reality😅

I like seeing him using all this technology that science has created when he tries to prove science wrong all the time. Don’t try to prove your beliefs. You have faith. Faith means believing with no evidence so you don’t have to prove it to anyone.

Huh? God created animals before man, yes. Then when God created Adam, he recreated one (or two or more, im not sure off the top of my head) of every animal again such that Adam could see God creating and doing his wonders right in front if his eyes. It’s not saying that All animals were created both before Adam and after Adam at the same time and in the same respect.
