Quick summary of the origin of the five points. In fact, to go further, the TULIP acronym was coined around the end of the 19th Century, but no one is actually sure who originated it. It was meant to be a quick reference guide to the five answers to Arminianism, but now has grown a life of its own for those that hate it or love it. The key thing for Christians is to check the scriptures (2 Timothy 2:15, Acts 17:11) to see if the doctrines represented in the acronym is in the Bible or not. Based on many verses and explained rightly, you will find that they are, but God's sovereignty is always one attribute that bothers even Christians. We tend to think if we didn't choose God of our own "free" will, then somehow it makes God's grace not amazing and God's righteousness null and void. On the contrary, it is the opposite. How amazing is it that God would save any sinner based on Romans 3:10-18, John 15:18-23, Ephesians 2:1-3, Jeremiah 17:9, and many other verses? Infinitely so.

Calvinism originally birthed nearly 400 years after Christ walked the earth by Augustine of Hippo, a man influenced by Manichaean Gnosticism and Stoicism. John Calvin later popularized some of Augustine’s teachings, despite the fact that the orthodox Christians for almost 400 years denied everything Augustine later taught on this issue of God’s sovereignty and man’s responsibility because those ideas were taught by Gnostics and Stoics. Tell the truth.

1 Corinthians 3:1And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal,  even as unto babes in Christ. 2I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. 3For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? 4For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?

1 Corinthians 1:10Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. 11For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the houseof Chloe, that there are contentions among you. 12Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.13Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?
