What is this video about?
With the new 1.19 Wild Update the "How Did We Get Here?" Advancement got significantly more challenging. It requires you to get all 27 effects (including Darkness now) at the same time. A lot of people don't know how it's done now so I want to share my speedrunning knowledge (as an All Advancements speedrunner) to show you how you can do it aswell. This video is quite packed so i recommend watching certain parts multiple times so you do everything right. Good luck if you're up for the challenge!

Another thing, make sure you’re wearing armour when you do the execution, because if you don’t with the invisibility the shulker won’t see you

Just thought it was worth mentioning, you can't use a shrieker that you have mined with silk touch, you have to use a shrieker that is already in the ancient city. You won't get the darkness effect and no warden will spawn off of a shrieker the player placed. You can use a sensor mined with silk touch still. Not sure if this is a bug but it confused me for a long time

It scares me how harder this advancement could get in future updates... doesn't look fun not gonna lie.
Imagine they add a new effect that only triggers when you find a specific structure (for example ocean monuments), that would totally mess up all your effort and set up, because structures can't spawn on loaded chunks right? So you'd have to find again A village, pillar outpost, ocean monument, etc etc close to one another and really far away from your base/world, or create a new world and have to get all advancements again... I wish this was better designed, but it is what it is :/

You can also use slime blocks to make a wall that you can mine with mining fatigue; just in case some skeleton with a flame bow happens to wander into the deep dark from another biome and shoot it blowing it up and killing you.

Also, small tip:
If you're on 1.19, don't break the wool if there are still sculk sensor in the area, as breaking them actually sends of a signal. This has been fixed though in 1.19.1, where you it doesn't send a signal

Would getting darkness be easier and safer if everything was next to a warden switch you activate when you get there? Since a warden will never spawn and you're constantly getting darkness

2 little things to add. You don’t necessarily need an ancient city for this, just a deep dark. Also, if you already have two beacons, and don’t want to waste a god apple, a resistance beacon and fire resistance potion can be made.

I'm currently working on a small follow up to this tutorial. Stay tuned!

Here's a little update: I've seen Elysaku/Elden (also mentioned at the end of the video) trap the Warden at Spawn on the surface (where the Shulker ends up) in a Nether Portal. Basically Wardens can't get through a two blocks tall gap. Using this you can trap the Warden in the Nether Portal (on the Overworld side) if you block off both sides of the portal. Then you'll always have the Darkness effect and you don't have to worry about triggering a Sensor or Shrieker. You need to be within 20 blocks of the Warden and try to keep the Shulker on the opposite side of the setup, then it should work.
