Here I thought after putting a lot of hours in both games, it felt like ETS2 was more polished than ATS. It feels to me like ETS is the love child while ATS is the second kid that people kind of forgot about :P Both games are still great, and find myself going back to both. I'll get a hankering to play in ATS drive around for a good long time then one day all the sudden it would be "man, this was way better in ETS", so I would then save and get into ETS. In certain areas of ETS, I MUCH prefer the highways over ATS. It seems way better organized. I personally wouldn't say either is better then the other, just different, and different is amazing!

C'mon! ETS2 is 4 years older than ATS! Most of the ETS2 map with DLCs is older than the first version of ATS. You should compare ETS2 reworked areas and ATS reworked areas.
Btw, ETS2 trucks have terrible sounds, except the DAF XG+ and new MAN TGX, because they're the newest. Other trucks are very old and they are vacuums, which can tow big trailers

I have more than 2000 hrs on each.. and i am still playing more ets than ats.. and thats because i like narrow roads i feel more challenging.. also there are many different weather systems ... I like ets more

I love trucks from US, I like how they look like, to bad this 2 games will never collide to form a huge map, global trucker :)

As a enthusiast steam deck player i would rather choose ETS over ATS just because with good enough tuning i achieved 8.4-11 watts of power consumption with 40fps giving me 4 hours of playtime while at same 11 watts ATS stutters like crazy with 29fps. ATS is a newer game and does have graphical benefits but at 1280/800 i could not care about graphic, just need to have massive amounts of playtime instead. still both of these games are good.

America is big? Sure! But ETS2 can extend from Lisbon (Portugal) to Uelen (Russia) + all Asia + Africa ... and so on, with no gaps.

The main difference is release date, because 4 years before the release of ATS, ETS2 textures and models were utter s***. It is true haha, but with WB DLC, ETS2 is going to look even better than before. Every new DLC brings new models and the contents from the base game will look like a diamond.

This is very personal. I don't like ATS that much. I like small roads and a lot of nature. The American trucks are big and look beautiful but don't turn very well. Also, the trailers are sometimes stupidly big. I did almost 1600 hours in ETS2 and only 216 in ATS. With the Promods mod, you have a lot to drive and see. For me long distance driving is not attractive, so the long highway drives in ATS are boring. I drive in virtual reality so the graphics are very different from a monitor. In the cities in ATS, I suffer a lot from stutters, while my PC is strong enough. And that's why they have both, ETS2 and ATS.

Thats why i play ATS, but i still use engine pack mod for better sound and ATS promods

I will Play ATS, if this one of two criteria are fulfilled: 1st is all states is unlocked, and 2nd is Cab Over Engine head tractor is available, US Model of course, because at 18 Wheel of Steel, they have it.

All you said is true. Thats why i play ATS and not ETS2. As a German i can say, Germans like boring stuff. The Trucks sounds like vacuum cleaner because they do in RL. The Trucks looks boring and every one like the other, because they do in RL.

Even though Ats could expand to whole amrica, ets2 has the potenital of reching down into africa and east into asia potentially including australia wayyy later on
Edit: Btw most of the things you mentioned e. g. bigger cities, resting places is just given because its oftentimes standard in america. ETS2 is also realistic, because Europe is a bit more cramped than america

I started playing scs software games through ets2, it was the only one I knew and I didn't know about the existence of ats, besides I thought the European trucks were cooler, and because there were mods for the Brazil map, at the beginning of this year I saw videos of Brazilian truck drivers who lived in the United States, so I wanted to play ATS, and I got hooked, it's far superior to Euro Truck, the maps are more detailed and beautiful, in ETS2 it seems like all the cities and highways are the same, ats everything is iconic and innovative.

i like the challenge of floating gears in ats, where ets trucks have syncro'ed transmissions so you have to use clutch every time

off topic: have you seen the Asia Dream Map? It features the whole of Armenia and a lot of Georgian cities. I've had a look at the map myself and you can't combine it with other maps without it being broken. Maybe you can do a review about it or just check it out for yourself or something idk

There is a SoundFix mod in ETS2. In my opinion it is kinda good because SCS didn't put that much effort into ETS2 truck sounds.

as european I have to say (1) I don't understand why you made this video to tell ets2 worst game or something (2) don't forget ets2 brought us all here so we have keep some respect for the game (3) keep it up love ur contents

That’s because European trucks are far more advanced and quiet due to being more efficient

Not really agree with the map argument. As ATS is also heavily relying on map mods to cover what's outside of the USA
