NEW M4 MacBook Pro - Buy The Base Model!?

Apple just announced the new M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max MacBook Pro and while we thought we knew everything about these new Macs... apple managed to surprise us with some interesting updates including thunderbolt 5, a brighter display, and a much better base model

As an M3 Pro owner part of me is bitter as heck that not only does the base M4 Pro goes up to 24gigs of ram, but the base M4 not only sees the same increase from 8 to 16, but is nearly on par with the base M3 Pro.

I’m a bit bitter but man oh man are these M4’s a great deal. If there’s anyone looking at getting a Mac, I’d highly suggest a base M4 because that will last for YEARS to come.

Coming from an M1 Max user who happens to still be using this for high vfx work and breezing by smoothly. Time isn’t of essence but NOT much changes here in comparison. Geekbench score comparison or not is prior to how you use it really. I’ve pushed this thing to the max and still performs extremely fast. I’m still holding on until it takes me an hour to render something then I’ll consider it. But 1/2 minute mark rendering is just stupid fast for me. I love it.

It’s wild how the M4 Pro Mac Mini has 64 gb ram but the M4 Pro MBP only tops out at 48 gb ram instead of 64 gb ram 😂😂😂

Thoughts and opinions on the nano texture? Is it worth it or is it going to take away from the picture quality and how well does it hold up to scratches compared to the normal glass, I’ve already seen that it needs cleaned more

I got an M3 max MBP this year upgraded from the 2016 MBP.

Though im excited for this model, I won’t be upgrading till atleast the M6 models lol.

If you’re still using the pre M1 products I’d highly recommend upgrading. The performance comparisons will blow you away.
