One way that I was able to learn how to talk to people, back when I was very shy and anti social, was to help them feel comfortable and relaxed while we were talking, as if I had known them for many years.

People, especially women, are very perceptive with regards to how confident or nervous you are due to subtle non verbal cues; but if you look at them as if they are a normal part of your life, that nervousness tends to not be so strong.

Plus, it doesn't hurt to be authentically interested in them, as a person.
