The strict ID thing is the most annoying part. If someone clearly looks over 21 don't be a stickler for the ID. I don't always carry my ID but I always want to get drunk.

because in America you would have 5 year olds standing in a alley drinking a 12 pack.

Honestly america really needs to rethink many of its laws relating to alcohol and drugs in general. Especially cause allowing alcohol from a youger age like europe does would likely be better because it allows people experement with alcohol and learn how it affects them in a safe environment like with family and it prevents people from going kinda crazy with alcohol the moment they turn 21 like many people do in america.
Also america just needs to learn to take am apporach of care and help when it comes to drug abuse and underage drinking instead of their current system that will give you years of prison time for having a harmless drug like weed or unfortunately being addicted to something actively dangerous like heroin, which this system has been proven to actively not work and make things worse. Btw if you want proof of how americas current system relating to drug abuse is bad just look at portugal they use to do americas strategy leading to having a horrible drug crisis but they decided to shift their approach to providing safe spaces and care to help people become not addicted which allowed them to get the issue under control by decriminalizing drug use.

Alcohol isn't healthy anyways, no reason to make it even easier for Children who are still developing to have easier access and stunt their growth. We still gotta work on current issues like ease of access to Smoking/Vaping.

I would've preferred to be banned, but people are drug addicts and the government learned that in the prohibition.

Different cultures. Society would collapse if we allowed this here

clarification, alcohol related deaths in minors isn't as big an issue as it is in the US, not that Alcoholism and alcohol related deaths aren't an isue

It's an issue because we made it an issue by putting up those walls in the first place therefore being told you can't have something means once you get a hold of it you use a lot of it

I’m pretty sure for a time in United States the drinking age was 18 but the amount of car crashes increased by a good margin so, they decided to reversed the law.

Plus, if alcohol was invented today, it would be banned for consumption.

"it's like that there, why wouldn't it work here?" I hate it when people say stuff like that when they haven't considered the differences.

Probably because we need to drive to go anywhere or do anything.
