This is obviously someone that doesn’t practice good hygiene by rinsing the handle and head after every use. I’ve had this for 6 months and it is still as good as new. I am on my 2nd brush head per Oral B’s recommendation of changing it every 3 months. The handle is still clean and spotless with no mold or residue. Simply follow the instructions and yours will remain like new as well.

I can confirm that this is not true! If you wash the toothbrush after each use, it will never look like it does in this video

I have owned this brush for more than a year and have had zero problems with any build up. Super easy to keep it clean. When you’re done brushing:
1.) Remove the head
2.) Rinse the brush part with warm water
3.) Then turn around the head and let warm water flow through the base of the head and out of the drainage holes on the side until the water is clear (no toothpaste residue)
4.) Rinse the toothbrush base /handle with warm water until it is clean (also no toothpaste residue)
5.) Replace the head and turn on for a second or two to get rid of excess water.
All of this takes like 15-20 seconds max. Also, if residue has already built up, there is no need for you to go hacking at it with any kind of implement - toothpaste residue will always dissolve when rinsed with warm water. It may take a while, but it will. The take home message here is that you need to rinse your brush properly after use to avoid this issue - it’s very simple. Make it part of your routine 👍🏼
Remember: if you park this brush upright after brushing and whitish fluid starts leaking from the base of the head and down the base, you have not rinsed it properly!

It can happen when the water in your region has a hard water quality.
It can also happen when somone suffers from depression and can't feel motivated to clean the brush every time.
It can for sure also happen with other brushes which are similar.
But the most important factor is the quality of the water. I wash my brush correctly every day but still it is dirty inside.
To summarize, there are a few methods to clean it when the water is hard: vinegar, alcohol, water peroxide, water pik.
Sorry if my English is not good.

Hugs for everyone and stay healthy!

I rinsed mine daily, and washed it after using it 3 Times a day. Just because you guys can Not See the mold, it doesent mean it is there. After 6 months my io 6 is Not usable anymore because of mold, it looks clean But it kept running into my mouth. Thats a huge Design flaw. Last time buying an IO Series. Its ridicilous, Washing it and treating it so carefully Just to still have mold inside.

Just rinse it with water after use. It’s not hard to figure out. That’s what I do 3 times a day and it’s still like new 6 months on.

This is NONSENSE. I have been using the IO 6 for over a year, rinse it after every use and it's clean.

This brush is magnetic. The vibration happens in the head, not the handle.

I have the same brush. It doesn’t look as disgusting as yours. If you rinse it under fresh water after each use, it stays clean

Just use lime scale remove every few months. The biggest factor is your water hardness combined with plaque and toothpaste residue. For the most part, rinsing it off after each use should help along with periodic descaling.

You have to rinse it out thoroughly after each use. I then flip it upside down and lightly tap it on a wash cloth to release the excess water inside. Be sure to leave the toothbrush head OFF so this way both the toothbrush, and brush head, can dry properly.

All you have to do is turn it on while holding it under the faucet. The vibration with the water running through it cleans it in seconds by shooting everything out those little side holes. You can do the same with alcohol after to kill any germs

I've noticed the gunk build up in the brush head and handle. The best way to clean the head and the handle is with a water flosser.

That sleeve has saved my toothbrush from falls. Without it, the vibration mechanisms take a direct hit.

The manual literally says to run water through the head as well as the hand held thingy after every brush to keep it clean. I don’t know what you’ve been doing to your brush for it to be in that state 🤢

Its water-proof and to dry it take a towel and tap it upsaide down to take the water out the " tunnels will let the water flow out"

I have two iO toothbrushes, they are amazing!! I always clean them after each use and I use daily. Never had the issues shown in this video. Oral b has a video that shows you how to clean. It comes with a manual as well.

I use my waterfloss to clean the inside of the handle and brush head once a week. No mould or buildup so far....
