I was diagnosed with glaucoma last week. The eye/ headaches were unbearable, thank God I'm feeling way better. Planning to go for more tests on Thursday. 🤞

I just lost massive amount of vision, my eye doctor has yet to speak about treatment and maybe this could have been preventable. Very scary but faith I have.

For glaucoma, I take 4 eye drops latanoprost, pilocarpine, brimonidine, and dorzolamide-timolol. So far my pressures have been low with all four of my eye drops and I've never had glaucoma surgery

Thanks Doc! Who knew something so "simple" could be so much more! Five (5) minutes well spent!

After using drops for more than 20 years i am pro at that. I even deliberately trained myself to put in drops in complete darkness

A simple method of guaranteeing that your eye drops always hit the target is to hold a small compact mirror in one hand while gently squeezing the glaucoma eye drops with the other hand. Most women have these mirrors in their handbag or at home and if you are a man just borrow one from a spouse, sister or a friend. I have been doing this daily for the last 5 years with Latanoprost which just requires a gentle squeeze.

I have glaucoma and are use 4 eye drops everyday to lower my pressure. I'm on brimonidine, latanoprost, dorzolamide, and phosphaline iodide. My phosphaline iodide is very expensive and that's the only problem with glaucoma when I run out of the medicine.

Two months ago, I was diagnosed as having glaucoma. Don't like the daily drops but have no other choice.

I've had glaucoma 34 years. Using eye drops (betoptic, timoptic, pilo pine gel and others) has only led to laser eye treatment and it was unpleasant each time. The price of the medicine was unbelievable. Doctor's are puppets  of the drug makers. I prefer to grow my own medicine since after years of experience I found out what works and what does not. Doctor prescribed glaucoma eye medicine does not work well for me.

Use a mirror and drop in pocket of the lower eye lid, your will never miss the eye where the med needs to be . Push the bottom of the bottle with first finger releases only one drop ...squeezing may drip more than one.

Personally, I find it easier both to aim and see the dispenser (bottle tip) by lifting up the upper lid of my respective eye when instilling anything into my eyes. You've got to do what works for you.

I pull the upper lid up, which often makes it easier to land a drop when not flat on my back.

I'm currently suffering from Steroid Induced Glaucoma following a Corneal Transplant. Unfortunately I'm on Latanoprost & Lotemax which are not reducing my eye pressure and now I'm taking Timolol as a last resort before needing another surgery. I'm also Asthmatic, but luckily it's not being affected by the Timolol.

Why do the doctors prescribe name-brand medicines when generics are available? Even if the generic for a new prescription is not available, should the doctor not prescribe a proven generic, at least as a cost-effective option for the patient? I was diagnosed with Glaucoma about a month ago. The doctor prescribed me eye drop called Alphagan P 0.1%. With my Part D insurance, copay for Alphagan eye drop is $547 for 3-month supply. There is no way I can pay such a high cost. I went back to the doctor and he told me that generic is available but it has a higher potential for side effects. I don't know if he was just scaring me. I am using the generic anyway since I can not afford the name brand, but inside me I feel that my eye doctor was not truthful to me.

Had glaucoma laser surgery both eyes 20 years ago. Brimonidine, one drop each eye, 2 times per day, for over 20 years. Pressure has stayed around 12. Sure am tired of drops.

I like to add a question to that list of questions okay so what if you miss a dose and forget to instill your eye drops? . I've been in that situation before where my eye drops run out before the next refill although I can't say that my 90 day supply runs out within 2 months usually there's about a 3 to 5 day Gap is that still okay To be without the eye drops that long ?

My dad suffers from this disease. Doctor says the condition of the eyes is not very good. His right eye is 2% good and the left eye is 12% good. An operation has already been done to decrease the pressure of the eyes. My question is, is it possible to get his sight back as before?
Plz answer me sir.
