That's incredible! I work in an eye clinic with an ophthalmologist who specializes in dry eye and manuka honey drops is not a medication we are aware of. I will have to bring this to their attention!

My vision has been bad since elementary school. I’ve been using honey eye drops from herb baby for about 2 weeks and my eyes are 90% less itchy. Also my vision has improved slightly.

I had problems with blepharitis and dry eye for several months after a conjunctivitis. Nothing seemed to help. Bought manuka honey (thought I'd rather spend money on the real thing than in drops that only contain a little percentage) after watching this video and put little amounts in my eyes right before going to sleep. Instant relief the next day and after four nights I don't even need moisturising eye drops during the day. It's like a miracle for me.

I have been using these for 2 years. I was born with retinoblastoma, and the readiation treatment that I got back then has really ramped up dry eye pain now that I am in my 40s. When I turned 40, my optic nerve died of a blood flow problem, and now all I see all day is light and fog. I think blood is flowing in to the wrong part of my eye now, and it is causing my broken optic nerve to only see LIGHT, pure white and yellow light, just strange fog. But anyway. I started taking these drops to see if they would help. They did not help with that, but they did randomly stop the dry eye pain. So that is SOMETHING, even if I'm suffering every day from the other stuff still. I recommend these honey drops to anyone who has dry eye issues. Visine, etc, never helped me at all solve dry eye pain.

I am from USA and living in Spain right now. I found my dry eye specialist (Dr. Teresa Iradier) in Madrid last year by watching three of your videos called “Dry eye explained”, “MGD (dry eye) treatment guide - How to treat Meibomian Gland Dysfunction”
I have a mixed dry eye and MGD. I completed four IPL treatments along with Cyclosporine 0.05% eye drops and Autologous Serum eye drops. In addition, Dr. Iradier recommended permanently warn compresses twice daily, Manuka Forte Eye Gel to apply to my inferior eyelids nightly, and Manuka Dry Eye drops when I’ll be working with my laptop for long periods.
I FEEL GREAT thanks to you, your excellent videos, and a caring ophthalmologist Dr. Iradier.

I started using Optimel right after this video so 3 months ago. It still stings every single time. However, I believe the demodex mite control made a difference in my MGD disease progression by repelling these mites. I have more than one medical issue with these mites and I surmise I'm sensitive to them. With the Optimel I have little to no visible nites according to my eye doctor. My eyelashes have even started to thicken up again and grow. My dry eye is still with me in the mornings but during the day I'm doing well. No symptoms except for when first waking. This stuff was successful for me.

I wish more doctors were aware of newer research and treatments like this.

I've been using Optimel for about six months and won't go without it now. By now the last vestiges of Demodex infestation are long gone. The reddish/brown coloring to my eye whites has gone away. What's more, and I suspect this is down to a drop in inflammation, I see a whole lot better than I did before. I can't recommend Optimel enough. Thanks for taking us through the literature on this great product Doctor Eye Health!

My blepharitis inflammation (eyelid redness) has almost gone after only 4 days with the gel. Incredible stuff

I'm trying these again after my recent DES check up and I have to say I've noticed a good amount of improvement in the look and comfort of my eyes in just 7 days with twice daily drops. Amazing. As a kiwi, I really should have been on to these a whole lot faster. 🤣

The mild stinging is tolerable. Just keep the eye closed for 15-20 seconds and it's fine. Thanks for the review Doc!

This is so cool that bees are still doing such amazing things.
1) pollinators
2) honey makers (which if I recall correctly has a low glycemic index great for diabetes, plz fact check that)
3) so many medical uses that are used in conventional, regional, and experimental forms of medicine.

I have used local unprocessed raw honey, not minooka, in warm distilled water to quickly cure conjunctivitis and styes for my family through the years. Has worked every single time.

I make my own. 1/4 teaspoon manuka honey dissolved in 1/4 cup warm distilled water. Optional pinch of kosher salt.
It really helps with pink eye and just feels good anytime. I have never had any burning.
I use it on my cats as well.
Store in refrigerator and warm up (not in microwave) before use.

Hi! So I’m German, this is nit a thing here like many things that are dry-eye related and I keep bringing odd bits and ends from English internet (research, studies etc.) to my optho-team (I have rare and difficult eyes). Just wanted to thank you for being that part of light-shedding people. Always useful and informative.

Surprised Bausch & Lomb isn’t making a drop out of this and calling it their own (at $800 a month) like they did with Miebo (proflurohexyloctane) - $20 in Europe under various names like EvoTears.

I love that you covered this! I myself switched to using pure raw manuka honey as my face wash (I use to use Elta MD.) I have rosacea and demodex, and after each use my acne goes down, my eyes don't itch, and inflammation is totally gone. I love manuka honey!
