I’m old, and props to her. This is why we have insurance. Age is no excuse for dishonesty.

The man said he can’t have it on his “record” which means he’s been in multiple accidents and had multiple tickets. He knows damn well he shouldn’t be on the road anymore which is why he tried this stunt.

People if your loved ones are unsafe driving take their license away. For their protection, and the protection of everyone else on the road.

The old man didn't want his insurance to go up. Please don't feel bad, the offer of $300 was for selfish reasons and he didn't give a damn about the damage to the young lady's car, and he knew it. He was conning her.

He thought he was making a generous offer because he still thinks it's 1947.

Lots of us older people would not lie. I thought he was afraid of losing his licence because he had a lot of prior accidents. I am 79 and I just stopped driving myself when I considered myself not very good at driving any more. I now use buses, subways, streetcars and taxis and I am not in danger of hurting anyone including myself.

Never settle at the side of the road. You never know what the true damage is.

My dad is just like that guy. Never accept what these guys say. He has no shame. He laughs at people he can screw over while pretending to be a “feeble” old man. I can’t always be there so I LOVE it when he’s called out.

Anyone that would lie to defraud and wrong someone else deserves no sympathy or respect whatsoever.

This woman handled herself with poise and dignity...she even tried to show the man some mercy.

I’m glad she got $3500., to fit her car. That man was so wrong, glad he got caught.

"I can't afford to have another accident on my record." ANOTHER? How many accidents has this man caused?!

Mad respect for her staying calm and respectful. I don't think I could.

What I find troubling is that originally he said he couldn't afford another accident on his record. I just wonder how many accidents he's had before and whether he should be allowed to drive.

Even if it was only 300 in damage she doesn’t have to take his money, that’s ridiculous for people to suggest that. She’s under no obligation to agree to a deal with him if she wants to go through police and insurance that’s fully her right

She is completely 100% on everything she said!

He needs to have his keys taken from him. Quite aside from the money or damage issue, he is evidently a danger on the road.

She told him she was going to call police. When she had her phone to her ear, he told her that he would just lie. While the phone was still to her ear, she pressed ‘record’, and she got him to repeat it. He thought that the phone was to her ear because she was about to call police, and he thought he was still trying to talk her out of it. He was wrong. The phone was to her ear in pretense, as she was actually recording. I love Total Recall!

I had something similar happen but the 81 year old totaled my 3 year old car and offered me 500. I called police. The guy begged me not to call the police or turn it on my insurance because he had totaled someone else’s car just the week before. He needs to be off the street. SMH!

What a nice young lady. Plus, she is right about old people driving. My husband gave up his drivers license when he knew he should not be on the road. He hit a parked truck and thought it through, said what if that had been a kid on a bike or anyone in a moving car. He then went and turned in his drivers license in to DMV. Hats off to him! I am still good with driving, and I hope I have the same dignity my husband has when my time comes. There is a point you must give it up.

Meanwhile, the elderly man doesn't realize she's gathering evidence to bust him.

And if he was so willing to lie to the cops, what's to say he's not lying about having so much in his life right now? The guy sounds like he's had some experience with not telling the truth.
