More than 7,500 dedicated personnel are actively involved in Fighting the flames.

The operation has deployed 1,162 fire engines, offering ground support to suppress and control the spread of the fire.

Additionally, 31 helicopters are conducting aerial water drops, supported by six large water-tanker aircraft to tackle the more inaccessible and high-intensity hotspots.

It is remarkable to realise that California (10 times larger in population with 50 times larger gdp) has only 6 water tanker planes… where do you guys spend your tax money???

I live in Los Angeles, on Wilshire Bl, 2 blocks from Santa Monica. While trying to decide what to do next, Your 9min video was more helpful to me than 90 min of news and social media. Tysm I ventured out to see how close the fires are and noticed the sun setting in the East. 😅🤣🤣 Knowing that the sun sets in the west, I realised the sky was not a sailors delight, but that it was flames. 🔥🔥🔥It's the smoke that spooked me. It's everywhere, like a light fog on a dewy morning (but the smell is unmistakable).
According to your map, Im boxed in. But I have great faith in the LAFD. So, I got some groceries, filled my prescriptions early, and went home. I feel better after seeing this and plan to shelter in place. Your video was so helpful, that I did something Ive never done before and added my card to YT and left a little tip. Thanks again.

These were Santa Ana winds on steroids. As a native I have NEVER seen winds like this before.
