Fellas, I'll give you a more in depth explanation.

When sizing down, make sure you use strong thread. If not, make sure to put more stitches in with regular thread. The explanation is that stronger thread with less stitches would have the same strength as normal thread with more stitches. Basically, when one of the threads goes to break (it shouldn't, but just in case), the stitch count will help your entire stitch to not unbind faster.

Essentially, you don't have to buy strong thread if you don't need to. Just sew with the best and most durable stitch pattern you can.

I thrifted pants and they are quite big on me.
I am a 5’4 bony ass child and these pants seem to be made for a middle aged robust man.
Idk how well this hack will work for these pants but I will try

What if you want to shrink the thigh area like the where the front pockets are without having to use a sewing machine? Is that possible

If you pinch half an inch on both sides it actually comes out to be 2 inches. Think about it.

You should do a back stitch instead for more security
