Homemade Food for Senior Dogs Recipe (Slow Cooker)

This homemade food for senior dogs is a slow cooker recipe, so it's extremely easy to prepare. All you have to do is add all of the ingredients to your slow cooker and cook on low for 4-5 hours. You'll know when it's finished because the chicken will be so tender that you'll be able to pull it apart easily with a fork.

If your veterinarian recommends certain supplements for your dog, add them to the recipe when it's finished cooking and stir it evenly to distribute the supplements. This recipe will not be suitable for all senior dogs. What general supplements would you recommend for this recipe. I will be feeding this to my senior Boxer... she's 10 yrs old and has no obvious health issues. Just old and sedentary. I just want to make sure I am getting her all the basic nutritional needs met. Thanks for this!

Because my 13 yr old chihuahua has kidney disease. I ask you because my vet is not very coperative regarding home cooking for my dog she just said no protein for her she is .
between 1 and 2 stage and her phosphorus levels are normal

I wish you’d mentioned why you chose those specific ingredients & what they add nutritionally to the dog’s diet. Also how to calculate content people know EXACTLY how much to feed and when to increase or decrease. That diet seems void of SO many nutrients from SO many other vegetables, protein sources and fruits and oils.... scary! People need to REALLY research homemade food and not just trust anyone on YouTube/Instagram/Reddit, etc! And talk to your Vet about making a homemade diet for your particular pet(s)! If you have a Vet that won’t talk with you or help you with things like this, you need to find a new Veterinarian!
