Once your child had been diagnosed with a speech delay and if you are feeling lost about what is expected or what is that you need to do, make sure that you ask your speech language pathologist to share websites, links or books that can be teamed up so that you have access to genuine information about your child. The other thing you can do is connected with other parents who have children with similar issues and you can connect with them at the centre where you are going for speech therapy. Third thing is you can arrange for play dates with your extended family, maybe neighbours. So make sure your child has enough opportunity to practise speech skills with other children. You can also join online support groups where you can help other parents or put in your queries where you feel that you are having an issue with. Also check whether your speech therapy centre offers any group therapy sessions because that may be a great opportunity to meet other children who might be like your child and so you can have play dates with them as well. Also you can share information with other children having similar issues.
