STOP ANTS from getting to your food permanently for $20 in 20 minutes.

We made this 2 years ago and not a single ant has been able to find its way to the dog food since.

Ant proof trays use all kinds of tactics to keep ants away. Some create a long, complicated path hoping ants will get lost and give up. Some use special materials that ants don't like to touch. Both these methods can delay the ant infestation, but they will eventually find their way to the food. Some use special chemicals, like special gels. Do you really want to keep having buy their special sauce? The only truly effective and convenient way of keeping ants away from food is to use a water barrier. We've looked at many of these products and they were too small, too hard to clean or just way overpriced. We've been using our tray for a year. Not a single ant has made its way to the dog food.

Update: You don't even have to add water. Ants still can't get to the top tray. It seems they have a hard time walking upside-down on the bottom of the upper tray once they've climbed up the bolts. So actually, you probably don't even need a lower tray. We accidentally discovered this when failed to add water for several months.

I will add that an elevated height for pet feeding is also more beneficial for them too

Thank you for this video!! I was looking for a quick solution and didn't have the tools to make this, but I was able to further DIY the one-tray solution using 4 magnets and the baking tray I already have. I protected my cute magnets from scratches using some painter's tape :D. Works like a charm until I get the chance to implement a more permanent solution. You're a life saver!

Be sure to keep the trays AWAY from your walls, otherwise they'll just climb up the wall, and cross over to the tray.
