Islam and the Star of David - What is the real Jewish symbol?

Показать описание
The Star is David or Magen David as a six point star isn't mentioned anywhere in the Bible or the Rabbinic canonical literature.
The "Star of David" was first created in India and is a part of the worship of Padma Lakshmi.
Later it was used as a decoration throughout the Roman Empire. You can find Stars of Davids in ancient Jewish synagogues - but as a simple decoration, with no spiritual or religious meanings (for example - in Capernaum by the Sea of Galilee). You can also find a Star of David in Roman Villas (Ein Yael, Jerusalem), Byzantine Churches (Shiloh), and ancient Mosques (Ramla).
Stars of David started to be associated with Jews only in the last few centuries, starting from Central Europe (Prague), and in the 19th century, the Zionist Movement embraced it. Some people will suggest that the Jewish Kabbalists used it before that, in medieval periods, and indeed you can find manuscripts that used it, yet it is just one of many symbols used by Kabbalists).
The Muslim buildings in this video are original Maluk and Ottoman buildings that didn't exist before the 13-19th century, and are not remains of Jewish buildings or second use of buildings that were built by Jews. The Star of David is known in Islamic tradition as "The Seal of Solomon".
The ancient and original symbol of Israel, without a doubt, is the Menorah - starting from the days of Moses of blessed memory (Exodus 25). The Menorah is mentioned many times in the Bible (Zechariah 4- my personal favorite) and the rabbinical literature. Yet Star of David/Shield of David (Magen David) isn't.
