Love the colors I don't think I ever realized how thick those were 19.1 mm is a thick thick watch, yes it's a chronograph but for the price point Omega's at you think they could slim those down a little.

Those straps are top quality. There’s nothing on the aftermarket that comes close.

You wouldn’t open the He escape valve “before diving” or while the watch is submerged, because saturation diving involves descending and ascending in a diving bell, a closed vessel. Saturation divers live underwater for extended periods in the diving bell (which is water-tight, dry, and pressure-calibrated using certain mixtures of gasses), and exit the bell to do their work at depth, much like an astronaut leaving the ISS to go on a space walk. When the work is done and the divers are ready to ascend, they do so entirely within the diving bell. This is when the He escape valve needs to be opened, to prevent the destruction of the watch as built-up He rapidly leaves the watch during depressurization.

Incidentally, this is why it was unnecessary for Omega to make the He escape valve on post-2018 watches openable "underwater." The watch would never be submerged when the He valve would need to be used.

I think it's a good looking watch, but then I'm biased - I'm an Omega fanboy at heart, and I own one of the second generation Planet Ocean's which is my everyday watch.

My only gripe is, this thing is thick. Surely, with all Omega's knowhow and Swatch money, they could slim it down closer to Rolex sizes? And it's not just this particular model, but most of Omega's offerings bar their Tressors. Omega used to be known for their delicate, sculptured cases, and it'd be nice to see their modern tech paired with friendlier wrist sized housing.

This is their most attractive model in my opiniom.

Awesome review...I own the Planet Ocean GMT 232 32 44 22 01 002. Since you have a similar wrist size and shape as I do and you have most likely worn both...would you say this Chronograph wears similar to the GMT?

Tim, I respect you for your vast knowledge in watches, but when will you learn that Omegas chronograph movements beat away at 28800 bph (8 bps)? I have read several comments about that. The reason is so the seconds hand always will hit a 1/4 s marker or between two and thus can be read to 1/8 of a second.

Great piece - I have this on the ss bracelet and the blue dial ss as well. May add the orange bezel / grey dial too. Yes it’s big but that can be relative - we all have different sized wrists, forearms and preferences - I comfortably rock this with my 7.6 inch wrist and solid forearms plus I dive sometimes too. Besides, there are plenty of smaller Seamasters and Seamaster Planet Oceans as well. Interesting how the Rolex Sea-Dweller Deepsea isn’t an issue with it’s similar size and that isn’t even a Chronograph!

Note. Watchbox - didn’t you guys review this same piece 4 years ago in a separate vid?

If I was going this big, I think I'd go for a second hand Rolex Cameron Deepsea, , ,

I apologize, but I had to bite my lip when Tim said "it fits me...". I know Tim is a salesman and has to move product off the shelves, but come on...

19.1mm thick. Does omega just intentionally make their watches as thick as possible?
