This Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean has really won me over

Rolex fan girl is reviewing another Omega here. I'm so sorry to all my fellow Rolex lovers, but we have a lot of Omegas here at Gringa HQ ;) And I am slowly being won over to the Omega way of life ;)

TODAY we are looking at the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean, a watch that I think is even better than the classic Seamaster Professional 300. 600m water resistance, awesome looking watch, I'd argue it's one of the best go anywhere do anything watches. Just a fantastic all rounder that doesn't get the love it deserves!

That was my first luxury watch. I bought it for myself for my 30th birthday and over a decade later, even alongside a Rolex, JLC, GS and other Omegas I’m still obsessed. Such a kick-ass watch ❤️

Wearing my orange bezel PO from 2008 right now. It’s a forever watch for me.

I own and am currently wearing (rotation)...42mm PO 8500 Ceramic bezel inset with Chromium Nitride. Tool, Understated, Go anywhere, do anything, just about the last watch you want/need. If I could have only one watch, this would be it. Plus 1.5 secs/day after 6 years of regular wear. Tough, tasteful, elegant. You have great taste, Britt! 😍

I love seeing her so excited over Omega. I thought the day would never come! I’m wearing my SMP 300m with the white “great white” dial right now, on the rubber strap. I love the bracelet too though. It did take a minute for me to warm up to but trying it in person is completely different from seeing it online. I almost bought the PO but it was thick on the wrist and I have a 7 1/2 inch wrist. Maybe I needed to try the 42mm instead of the 39.5mm. Great video! Keep Omega coming!

Another great video about my favorite watch brand. Thank you, Britt.
And for the critics: Of course the helium escape valve is unnecessary and even a bit ridiculous, but without it a Seamaster is not a Seamaster!

My first Omega back in 2008 is a Planet Ocean. Wear it more than any other watch and it’s been through a lot and still looks the best.

This was a watch I had to own and treated myself to it over 10 years ago. It’s just bomb proof and looks fantastic. It has a certain charm that the later ones don’t have. I actually think it looks better now and has aged beautifully. A classic for sure.

I bought a pristine example of this watch a couple years ago as a gift for my son, and it’s just beautiful. He’s an aspiring watch nut, and I can’t think of a better all-around watch for a young person to take along on any of life’s adventures. The later Planet Ocean just became huge and heavy, and while I did own a newer PO chronometer model, I ended up selling it because even though I’m a bigger guy at 6’2” and 215lbs with an almost 8” wrist, it felt cartoonishly giant wearing it

I recently discovered your channel and it's been a fun discovery! I love how there's niches I still didn't know about on here and I've been using YouTube since early 2006. I like your jacket, btw!

Could not agree more. I was gifted mine in 2007 for my 50th birthday and am still wearing it today. It’s a fantastic every day watch and has never let me down. I also own two Rolex but never wear them and will probably sell them some time in the future but never the PO

This particular model is my favourite Planet Ocean version - ideal 42 mm case, brushed bracelet and non-ceramic bezel makes it more tool-style, but has enough style to be suitable for smarter, dressier occasions.

It’s a beautiful beast. It was my first purchase from Omega, and it remains my go to watch for all occasions. Tough and beautiful. An upgrade to the SMP 300.
Great video. Thanks!

You can’t go wrong with a PlanetOcean, built for purpose and are serious camera friendly bits of kit. Love the tapered shoulder design and what a presence on the wrist. It is the perfect all round wrist hugger.

one of the most important things to note about this sizing is the bezel diameter is 40mm. the 42mm measurement accounts for the assymetrical case, which is somewhat akin to measuring the width of the case at the crown guards. i'm suprised by how little this is dicussed, actually!

I have this exact model PO. It is an incredibly unassuming timepiece that I find myself staring at without realizing I'm doing it. It is not a pampered piece but a daily wearer that just feels right. It also just feels special enough not to be mistaken for a $300 Kickstarter watch. Build quality is everything here including the bracelet.
I just love this piece❤️

Thanks for showing us Omega guys some love. After all these years, last week I finally pulled the trigger and bought my first actual luxury watch. An Omega. Constellation 41mm in Blue with blue ceramic bezel. This is a whole new world of watches! Also, I simply must agree with you that the Seamaster before the ceramic bezel was better looking (it’s also completely different from the Constellation bezel, which I love!) hmmmm….. Maybe the World IS big enough for both Omega and Watch Gringa! 🤣🍸🤣🍸🤣🍸

As general rule, I could do without the escape valve, particularly given I don’t dive. That aside, it works fine here visually. This is a great version of one of their heavy hitters.

This is my all time favorite dive watch. Rugged but sophisticated, iconic brand, affordable, wears smaller than its 42mm case size, flies under the radar (unlike a sub) and easy to have serviced because of it's ETA based movement. This was my first "luxury" watch and many years and many watches later, one that I still wear and appreciate above almost all others in my collection. Thanks for giving it some love!
