Fantastic Omega, probably one of the best quality & value Omega's you can buy.

I just purchased the PO GMT caliber 8906.. movement is beautiful. Glad to add this piece in my collection. As much as I love my submariner, the omega takes a backseat to no one.

Tim, I'm glad you got to the latest Planet Oceans!
Can you touch on what differences (other than the size) there are between this watch and the 43.5 mm version ( model 215.30.44.21.01.001) The larger model has the 8900 movement. I thought the older Planet Oceans with the 45.5 mm case were too large, but I'm leaning toward the 43.5 mm incarnation. Both are gorgeous!

Hi Tim. I have the 45.5mm PO Cal 8500 (with orange 12, 6 and 9) and love it. Am presently looking at the 43.5mm version of this with Cal 8900 (along with other alternatives) to buy for my son as a gift and was in with my AD just yesterday. It's a real beauty also. I think this smaller one is a little too small for my taste but in general, I think these pieces are superlative in every respect. As the owner of a 114060 Sub and 126660 DSSD JC, in my opinion, these POs are up there with both the Rolex I own. Indeed, in my opinion, in many ways better. I am of the view that the only thing that speaks against them is the fact that they dont benefit from the Rolex name.

sold my 14060M before it really needed to get serviced, had it a couple years but now looking at this to replace it. One of the main attractions is the bracelet and clasp. ADjustable clasps wow! Old Rolex bracelet was not that great and clasp never centred on my small wrist but having the adjustable clasps would be real handy going from -40 temperature to +40 C temperature.

In my opinion this watch humiliates the Submariner in pretty much all aspects (except for status).

The slider is a really nice feature for a comfortable fit.

Rolls all over the Rolex Submariner. Absolutely superb watch! A man's watch.

If this style of end links was used on other omegas it would make a lot more models wearable on small wrists. There are many models that fit me case size wise, but the t shaped end links make these watches simply to long.
I'm glad Omega is making this type of end links as well, maybe if they offered this on bigger models as an option?!

I love this watch Tim...I'm on the lookout for the "Big Blue"...blue and orange all around! Really nice piece.

The best looking of all the Seamasters. I just wish they could reduce the length of the minute hand by a few millimetres!

@BladeSnap. Not to knock down the sub which I love and is iconic. The omega calibre 8900 vs. the Rolex 3135, Rolex doesn't come close. The calibre 8900 has a higher power reserve, deeper water resistance, also is way more anti magnetic, even more so than the Rolex milgauss. I do like the bracelet on the sub better but the omega by no means is a cheap watch. To each his own I guess..

As a Rolex Sub owner, Id like to see this one live. Good review.

you have the 8800, the 8800 has only one barrel. the 43.5mm uses the 8900 that is dual barrel.

Purchase a 43.5
The caliber 8800 and 8900 is quite different
Looks like it only has one barrel not two
And the clasp is a bit shorter
Any way great review Tim

I'm rethinking this one. I'm a big fan of the PO 8900 but at 43 mm, I find it too big. Even though I have a 7.5" wrist, the dimensions of this particular model seem perfect. I would easily choose this over a ceramic Sub as a daily driver.

Is there no titanium version of the master chronometer?
