in principle the only thing that should matter is the vibration in the frame, between the nozzle and the bed, so it doesn't matter if the whole machine wobbles through space. Except maybe in edge cases when the resonance frequency of the table had harmonics with resonances in the frame, then it might amplify vibrations...

As long as the head and board arent wobbling relative to each other, you could probably print on a boat in a tsunami and have it come out fairly well

I print in my RV all the time and they come out great. I can feel when the bed moves if I'm very still

I have the full-size A1, and that thing is constantly calibrating, so it's not a shock that it still works decently well

I printed for over 2 years with my Ender 3 V2 sitting on top of a very wobbly set of drawers with no major issues. I will say through that printing things like half-boxes (that are to be glued together) had a high failure rate. It was almost like since it wasn't an enclosed perimeter, the "exposed" ends were prone to wobble from the table that wasn't necessarily synced to the wobble of the printer/hotend and I would get small blobs in the end of the wall before it failing 30-40mm of height later. I don't experience the same issues on a solid table on concrete.

The only think I can think of is if you have any sort of screws for the print bed leveling, the wobbly table will shake those out of alignment easier so itll take more upkeep

My P1S sits on a wobbly toolbox and has no issues lol love that unit.

The fact that it prints that well being hung in the air is amazing lmao

The Bambu Lab A1 and A1 Mini calibrates itself and it adapts to how wobbly the place you put it (I don't know about other printers doing this)

It probably works better while on wobbly surfaces because of the counteracting forces of the table and nozzle moving at the same time

I temporarily have mine on a folding wooden TV tray. It rock and rolls like it's on a hobby horse, but the prints look good.

it shouldn't cause much deviation so long as it doesn't shift hard enough to cause the mechanisms to move

if you tried shaking it hard during the print, you might notice a few issues.

Got the qidi 3x smart on a wobbly table and the prints have all come out perfect.

My P1P spent it's first year printing on top of the cardboard box it came in. Worked just fine.

Great visualization of when frequencies cancel out.

I have a wobbly coffee table where mine is sitting on. It seems to be OK. Better than when I had it on a sturdy surface now I don’t have any mess ups on my prints for some reason.

Seems like that's a testament to the quality of the linear rails on that printer. Results on other printers could vary a lot more.

My A1 mini is over on an old wobbly nightstand held in place by some barbells on the bottom and it prints perfectly

That new silicon jel floating 3d printing is awesome. Have you tested it??
