How to Massage the Quadriceps

preview_player
Показать описание
The quadriceps are the four muscles on the upper anterior leg. The Rectus Femoris is the only one that crosses two joints. The 3V's are the Vastus Lateralis which is the most powerful of the four. It is located on the lateral side under the IT band. Vastus intermedius is under the Rectus Femoris. The Vastus Medialis is on the medial side of the leg and it's the one that looks like a tear drop. All four insert through the quadriceps tendon and the Patellar tendon on the Tibial Tuberosity. The Quads extend the knee and the Rectus Femoris also flexes the hip so it's important to work when the Psoas and Iliacus are ischemic.

I’m a first-year Physiotherapy student in South Africa and this is the only video I’ve found so far that is so familiar to what we’ve learnt in massage! This is such a great video and I love how you talked about all the different muscles, and have the drawings on the leg. We’re also learning the lower limb in anatomy at the moment so this has been helpful.

Why the people that give thumbs down does not have the kindness to write the reason of their opinion? I found this wonderful lady very well educated and since she’s taking her time to post this informative videos the least we can do as watchers is give some feedback, positive or negative so Mrs Maria can improve what you think she’s doing wrong. With all the respect.

Let me just say, I really enjoy that you go over all the muscle names, origins, insertions etc. I’ve been a LMT over ten years now & to be able to watch someone go over it all again with visuals is great. Thank you.

Well I think I've got the right video after yesterday's Hamstring one(but will still go check again). For today's lesson, I've got some points:
1. Revision of 3 types of tendon strains: 1) bruises, 2) tendon tore, 3) tendon tore apart completely (no massage)
2. 3 Stripping skills: two-fingers, fists, forearms
3. Good demo for knee care/knee tendonitis
4. A good therapist always invites his client's engagement when doing myofascial release, and gives a lot attention using his body weight or different postures (horse stand/archer stand etc)to protect his own body. For your reference I would be very delighted to watch another video with Taichi introduced.

In this video I feel muscle lifting, along/cross fibre stripping very effective for quadriceps. Thanks Maria. Have a beautiful day!

I'm in love with the teacher, the way she carries her knowledge of anatomy and physiology, also uses it practically.
I am from India, I am also a Massage Therapist, I never saw anyone in India having some firm knowledge and following what is right and scientifically correct.
Lots of love to you Mam❤️

I like that this is specific, informative, and actionable. She breaks it down to specific usable techniques. Painting the muscles is genius.its like the illustrated man.

What a thoughtful and creative way to help people learn! Seeing the muscles painted on the skin makes it so much easier to grasp the technique. I'm impressed by your dedication to sharing your wisdom and skills. It will help me relieve the pain and I cannot thank you enough...

Marvellous instructional video ! I think quads are the areas I least spend time on in a full body, so it's great to see some varying techniques here . Thank you so much !
