Thanks for proof that i been asking my parents just to get £20 Ethernet cable for 2 years, they said it doesn't make a difference compared to WiFi. now i'm happily playing games competitively

Were you using 2.4 ghz or 5ghz? That's why your wifi speeds were slower. 5ghz can send double the data over the air

Okay so I play on Xbox and want an Ethernet cable but my mom and stepdad obviously have no use for it so would they still be able to connect to the WiFi while I use the cable?

Why not have both. Use ethernet for devices that are not moved like desktop computers and wifi too. Unless i heard wrong, You said you can only have one computer using ethernet. There is no limit. Your router has more than 1 ethernet port and you can use hubs. You can also use hotspots to have wifi broadcast from many endpoints of the ethernet connections. I think wifi is only good for devices that require it. Otherwise ethernet is obviously better.

You can use ethernet and wifi at the same time though. For example, you can have the ethernet cord plugged into your xbox and connect to the wifi with your phone or other device?

I use a 2wire wifi adapter, Its not good enough for ps now. should I try for a new adapter or just find an ethernet cord? I don't wanna spend money on something that won't work with ps4 PlaystationNow =/

I pay like 10 Mbps for my internet speeds for like 60$ but download speeds are 8 Mbps and slowly shrinks to nothing then 5 Mbps then 8 then slowly shrinks and repeats the process.. what's going on? if I use a Ethernet cable for my Xbox will I still be able to connect to the wifi?

wait can't you have a wired connection to your xbox (ether net) ut still have wifi to your phonr, or does wiring your internet to one device take it all?

hi I bought a gaming pc
at the beginning it ran well but now after I purchased some multiplayer games like gta v and battlefield 4 they kick me out because of my ping
I have a good internet in my home I can download at 3.5 mb at a second
but in gaming its not good also at the speedtest website I get every time 29 mbps and its not good
my question is how to know if my pc suffering from a problems or any solutions?
