The deaths of three German tourists killed in an avalanche while taking part in a heli-ski tour in the B.C. Interior are adding to the province's deadliest avalanche season in recent memory. Heather Yourex-West explains how the latest tragedy is triggering questions about whether backcountry tour operators do enough to keep their guests safe.

The biggest storm of the season is set to slam Ontario and Quebec. The flights already grounded, and the flurry of travel warnings. Global News meteorologist Anthony Farnell provides his latest forecast.

Nobel Peace Prize winner and pro-democracy activist Ales Bialiastski has been sentenced to 10 years in prison in Minsk, igniting outrage around the world. Mike Armstrong explains how Bialiastski has long been a thorn in the side of Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko, and how Bialiastski's incarceration is a rallying cry for opponents of the country's authoritarian government.

And a South Carolina court has sentenced disgraced lawyer Alex Murdaugh to life in prison for murdering his wife and youngest son, ending one of the most publicized criminal cases in recent history. Jackson Proskow reports on the evidence which sealed his fate.

3:20 "It's up to users to weigh the risk themselves" Why is this? Shouldn't the heliski company have at least some responsibility in this too?

You can't protect people from everything - they just as well could have been killed driving to the ski resort.

I see global is pinning it on Doug ford for mining in the Hudson low land, but it’s Justin Trudeau who is the one bragging about the mining resources we have for ev batteries.

We’re not these elevated risks not well advertise by Avalanche Canada?

He killed his family to delay an investigation into his finances? That's pretty hardcore.

where is the common sense in people who indulge in this fun activity? stop blaming th eindustry. people are taking a risk to indulge in these fun activites and lack real common sense. they don't deserve any sympathy. These people are pure show-offs and they think having lot of money means pleasure all the time at any cost. arrogance of rich people is as bad as the mindset of terroists and drug cartels.

Wild mountains and snow weren’t made for safety, you take your chances in the snow and the slopes, skiing takes place in Avalanche areas.

God said the climate will be fine.

Genesis 8:22 —
While the earth remains,
Seedtime and harvest,
Cold and heat,
Winter and summer,
And day and night
Shall not cease.
