Can you please explain what you mean when you say patience is not a quality you would associate with being an astronaut? Space travel as it currently exists is all about the hurry up and wait. Some of these guys have spent hours on the launchpad enduring weather delays and decisions on technical issues. Compare it to air travel, we all know how savage your average human turns when a routine flight from New York to Chicago gets help up, but can it really be that hard to get four people off the ground? Sometimes, yes. But they’re trained for it. Patience is absolutely a necessary quality to be associated with an astronaut.
