In Dauphin, Man., there is immense pain in the small city of roughly 8,500 people on Sunday, a community shattered by loss after a fatal highway collision earlier this week. Just about everyone has some kind of connection to the 15 people killed, and six people are still fighting for life. Marney Blunt speaks to life-long friends of those who died.

As the identities of those killed in a Manitoba highway collision slowly surface, a police investigation into how the crash happened is underway. Mike Drolet looks back at the history of accidents and near-misses at the intersection of the incident, where so many died last week.
Sunwing will no longer be a choice for air travellers in Canada, as its new owner WestJet will be absorbing Sunwing aircrafts into its existing fleet over the next two years. Sean O'Shea is in Toronto with more on what this means for Canadians.

Despite very chilly relations between China and the U.S. these days, both countries are calling the start of U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s Beijing two-day visit “candid and constructive.” As Redmond Shannon reports, the agenda will mostly involve trying to rebuild some much-needed trust between the two superpowers — in the first such visit in five years.

Several German museums are returning family heirlooms — stolen from Jewish families during the Second World War — to the descendants of their rightful owners. Mike Armstrong explains how they're doing it and what it means to the families getting the items back.

The Trans-Canada Highway is a lifeline that runs across this country. Taken for granted in the modern day, paved roads outside of our cities were relatively rare until the 20th century. Dawna Friesen speaks with those from Manitoba’s Professional Truck Driving Championships held this weekend on their memories and hopes for the future of this open road.

"Over 40 years ago, a teenage Dawna Friesen worked next to a highway, so she knows full well about traffic accidents as she is an expert." - GloBULL desperately trying to make a connection to the story

If it wasn't for the truckers you wouldn't get nothing remember that people in four wheelers . Give all the room to the truckers remember it's your goods coming to you and you or someone upsets that some way shape or form You're a blocking somebody else's goods and your own and you and those would have to suffer. You and those would be the first to complain if you didn't get what you had coming.

Man now the news is just milking the tragedy, it's sad, yeah, but making it all you talk about everyday, making sure you get all 8500 opinions is kinda much. Obviously RIP to all who died, and continue praying for the ones fighting for their lives.

The commiseration continues. But unnecessary accidents like this and Humboldt will continue until the government decides to build safe intersections.

Canada (and US of course) has the worst road safety design in developed countries, comparing to Europe we just let drivers kill people for no reason with our city and road design, we kept doing it for 50 years with no change. is it a developed country approach? is it the life that we deserve?

My heart goes out to all affected by this... I am sure many are reliving the Humboldt Bronco Tragedy and wonder if the one at fault will be treated the same way the driver of the truck was treated .

I wouldn't be surprised over three-quarters of everything and every museum is Stoughton at one point of time from the rightful owners

A shuttle bus has a blind spot and the driver needs to open the door in order to see if there is traffic to his right, which at the yield sign with the bus in motion, unlike his action at a stop sign, he apparently failed to do.
