Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is under growing pressure to answer questions regarding what he knew about allegations of Chinese interference in Canada's democratic process. Mackenzie Gray reports on the heat Trudeau is taking from the opposition, and the Privy Council documents suggesting senior government officials were warned about intelligence showing Chinese government officials were covertly funnelling money to Canadian political candidates.

A House of Commons committee has roasted the top executives of Canada's largest grocery store chains about their rising prices and record profits, as more shoppers struggle to pay for food. David Akin explains how CEOs were put on the hot seat and on notice, how they politely pushed back, and the unimpressive solutions they presented.

In Ontario, an Indigenous child protection agency called Nogdawindamin is being praised for its innovative approach. Carolyn Jarvis looks at how its leader has been unrelenting in his quest to keep Indigenous children in their communities.

Also, Heather Yourex-West explains the growing anger in Alberta after an oilsands leak was kept secret from the public for months.

Plus, Global’s Shogofa Danish reports on the intensifying danger for women risking their lives to work as journalists in Afghanistan.

And, Eric Sorensen explains why the European Space Agency says it's about time the moon had its own time zone.

More concerned about protecting himself than the country.

She knows nothing about finance, she may have the title but not the education. Just like the drama teacher chief.

JT, THE PEOPLE ARE HINTING THAT THEY CANNOT TAKE IT ANYMORE. IF I WERE YOU, I WILL ASK THE PEOPLE IF THEY WANT AN EARLY ELECTION. IF MORE THAN 50% OF THE CANADIANS AGREE, THEN CALL AN ELECTION.

grocery chains don't need to make 500 million in profit. They say that is "small" profit but it is still 500 million. Make it easier on farmers and they will have lower costs which will mean lower final prices in the stores. It is just annoying to see the grocers act like they have no choice. The profits mean there is still a lot they can do to actually lower those prices within their own supply chain structures and for their distribution system.

Is it Chinese interference or is it Chinese influence with money?
Rising prices - an opportunity for businesses to make more money? We have seen a jump in prices. A store made caesar salad used to cost $7.00 now costs $9.00. We have seen less items (example was 9 items and now is 7 items) in a package costing more now. Sometimes the items are smaller too. It looks like Canadians are being gouged by some businesses.

Crystia Freelands voice is like nails on a chalk board. And what is she talking about? Blaming others is what this government does best!

I'd like to note that wages are not going up for employees of these grocery chains either.

I want to mention that it is not just grocery stores taking from the bottom! businesses that make canned foods will put less of something in their cans and more of the less expensive items! Foods are not made very well in factories before they are packaged and sent to the grocery stores, the list goes on

Galeng Weston is a horrible lair. Loblaws doesn't see extremely small profits for one thing they have self checkouts which saves them money. Since they hardly have to pay anyone

Manufacturers of food products should also be hauled into the Federal Supreme Court and charged with food gouging. Why should Grocery Stores be the only ones on the gallows awaiting execution.

GROCERY STORES MAKING ONE MILLION DOLLARS A DAY?
SOLUTION: NON-INNOVATING COMPANIES WITH A LARGE PROFIT MARGIN ---> THEY ARE PLACED INTO HIGHER TAX BRACKET.
