Why the 2DS is AMAZING in 2024

I grew up with the 2ds. It was my first handheld console. I got it around 2019 when the 3DS was at the end of its life. I have great memories with it.

I play +1000h with a 2DS, for me one of the best consoles of all time. Cheap, powerful, good battery, very good handling...

I just bought one this morning on EBay. It sold for $100 and included Animal Crossing (w/Welcome Amiibo update) and Mario Kart 7. Not a bad bargain when the more desirable New 3DS XL sells for 2x-3x that amount.

Got one recently because I remember loving how comfortable it was when I had a chance to try it out for a while. Found a white and red one for a bargain bin price along with an included red case. It smelt of cigarettes (which I didn't know when buying it) but I was able to remove the smell from both and its been serving me well.

Another reason the 2DS is cheaper is because if you open the console, you will see that there is only one large motherboard where everything connects to instead of having lots of smaller daughterboards connecting to the main board so that everything will fit into the hinge design like on the other 3ds models.

The basic 2DS had a great price spike recently. It's more expensive than the original 3DS now.

I know that I'm six months late, but I highly recommend playing the Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga remake. If you ignore the new side mode, it's a really fun time from start to finish.

honestly people just talk about how comfortable the 2DS is, but i just dont see it. the 3DS XL models are more comfortable to me

The new 3ds xl can have an ips screen which is so much better than the 2ds screens

there are a number of games that feel better to play on the 2ds. especially pinball games from the og ds. and if you can find one for 50 dollars its a must buy.
