I always found the 2DS to be pretty comfortable to use, and with hacking, the game library is absolutely gigantic. DS, 3DS, NES, GB, GBC, GBA, SNES, Genesis, GG. Throw a huge memory card in there and you can pack it with more games than you'll ever play.

Back when I worked for gamestop we always recommended the 2ds for parents looking to buy some sort of DS for their (young) kid. The specific reason was because they were the single most durable handheld gaming system, especially compared to all the DS systems which had those easily broken hinges.

I liked the 3D gimmick when it was used well especially after the new 3DS iteration. Give me a 3D Switch, Nintendo!

I remember when these were still in production, people were selling them all the time on ebay for 30 to 40 bucks. Used. Fully functional.

Don’t get why people make fun of the 3D effect. It’s the only system that has this cool feature. I appreciate it and feel like future game enthusiasts will be interested in the 3DS just to experience this particular aspect.

I was seriously blown away when I played the 3DS port of Ocarina of Time. Never got to play the original as I was too young to even play it nor did we have an N64 but that was one example of a well implemented 3D effect on a game.

I love the 2DS. I’ve been playing Pokémon OmegaRuby on mine recently. Even though I have a 3DSXL and 2DSXL, the comfort of the 2DS is unmatched to me.

Kid Icarus Uprising and Ace Combat had a really good implementation of the 3D effect. Helped out a lot with depth and immersion in my opinion.

I actually love the 3D. The 3DS is still my favorite way to play Resident Evil Revelations. The 3D was pretty usefull with platformers or racing games like Mario Kart too.

No! Wrong! Many love the 3d, me included! Bold of u to assume everyone thinks like u! The 3D to me is what sets this system apart. I would never get a 2ds! It takes away features! I can just turn it off if i choose from the normal 3ds! The 2ds also has only one speaker so you are stuck with mono audio! Not to mention the horrible form factor and cheap materials. Also it maybe gimmicky on SOME games, but i would just as gimmicky as 4k. The games that use it well (luigi’s mansion dark moon, to name one) it gives the game an extra layer of depth and visual flair that i cant get without 3d! Making rooms look bigger and making the most out of the intended camera angles! Its like looking inside a diorama that feels life-like and impressive! Not counting people with visual impediments, 3D only adds to the game. Its like u can get your hand in there.
