My dad got me an orginal 2ds blue with mario kart pre installed in it as well as pokemon x many years ago. I still treasure that thing to this day. I love it so much

The problem with the new 2DS is that the speakers go right into your palms, muffling the sound unless I play at a weirdly uncomfortable angle. New 3DS solos imo

Let’s not forget the regular new 3ds that Nintendo did dirty. They had interchangeable face plates but only ever released one in the us and that was the red and blue edition

I like the new 3ds xl the most it plays every ds game ever made, plus I find the 3d effect pretty cool also I like the design

I really enjoy the 3D. It is the main reason why I got the 3DS in the first place. I also like the AR stuff when games use it.

I have the 3DS XL and never thought about upgrading to the new 2DS or new 3DS, it felt perfect to me.

I like my 2DS XL because it has the little flap to keep my game cart and micro SD card protected. And I don't need to remove my entire back cover just to transfer my data to my micro SD card.

I usually like fat models over slim models most of the time and I pretty much see the New 2DS XL as a slim model. Fat models usually have a more sturdy feel to them and I think that’s why I like the New 3DS XL over the New 2DS XL. I don’t have either right now but if I had to choose, I’d get the New 3DS XL

You can change the intensity of the 3D in the settings

One caveat is the battery. It's designed so it cannot be accessed. I removed the battery because it was going to long storage. I ended up breaking my sd card and the volume slider.

I remember loving my 3Ds so much when I was younger until it eventually got lost one day but I think the 2ds design just looks so much nicer and 3d just dosent really seem all that necessary tbh

Actually, the 3D for the 3DS is perfect for watching 3D movies on modded 3DS

While i own a new ds xl, i feel like it felts short on regards to accesories and modding options, on top of not having an easily accesible battery and extended battery option, the 3ds and new 3ds has a lot of case options, on that note, would be nice that now beign 2024 someone designed some 3d print files for buttons, cases, shell parts (a hyrule shield top snap case would be dope)😮

they both have the pros and cons. the new 3ds xl is too heavy, kind of blocky, and has 3d that gives people headaches. the new 2ds xl has speaker placement that most don’t like, some people say they don’t like phones or something? and that’s kind of it. overall, i think the new 2ds xl is better. it’s lighter, rounder, way easier to add additional storage, has a game cover, and is one of the cleanest looking nintendo systems.

i tried 3 retro consoles like the psp, the psvita and the 3ds at a shady store and the 3ds joystick as i remember feels alright not bad
